I would recommend Danu House to anyone. We loved it!

Mita and I Kadek Yudiana are such beautiful hosts and they made our stay extra special with their kind, attentive, and passionate service. Their whole family was so lovely and we felt like we were in a home away from home. The location was great. Very easy to access local restaurants and shops etc. We will definitely be back and I would recommend Danu House to anyone.

Best stay experience in Bali

We loved everything about our stay. Our hosts were delightful, the breakfasts were delicious, so fresh, and very generous. The courtyard is pretty and private and the pool is perfect for relaxing on a hot day. The beds were very comfortable. We arranged for daily massages through the host and they were fantastic, both deep tissue and relaxation. There is really good air conditioning in every room. The shop right at the front gate had the best bargains and a wee restaurant 100m away (Lemongrass) serving cheap yummy food. Ubud palace 1km walk or $5 ride away.

Nothing, we would stay here again if we return to Bali.

Great hospitality

Mita was perfect - constantly checking in, asking after us etc. We liked that the property was located within their family compound - gives it a more genuine, personal vibe. Whatever shortcomings of the property are made up for by Mita's warmth.

The bathrooms were not great - there's always a musty smell and a certain dankness. Not sure if it's just the layout or if it's a cleanliness issue. I think overall the property would benefit from a general refurbishment to patch some things up.

Amazing Place and Lovely People

We had a delightful stay at Danu House in Ubud. It is situated at the back of the family compound which is a few minutes walk from the busy main road. So it is lovely and quiet, without any traffic noise, your own little retreat after a days adventuring or shopping! The facilities are excellent, with a fridge, mineral water and a washing machine. The pool is lovely and refreshing. By far the best thing about Danu House are the people. Mita, your hostess, is amazing. Nothing is too much and she is the sweetest person. She organised tickets to shows, delicious breakfast each day and even brought me young coconut juice when I wasn’t feeling well one day. Her father in law Nyoman Danu lends his name to the unit and was happy to drive us around to all the sites, and it was lovely to meet Ketut who looked after the little shop at the front. Cannot recommend this place enough, will definitely stay here again.

Awesome villa and location.

We had a wonderful stay at this villa! The location was perfect—just a 10-minute walk to the main road with plenty of restaurants, local markets, and Ubud Palace nearby. Mita was a lovely and welcoming host, serving delicious breakfasts each morning and going out of her way to help us organise drivers and activities. The villa itself was spacious and relaxing, with two comfortable upstairs bedrooms (each with its own bathroom) and a well-designed downstairs living area. The private pool was a great bonus—perfect for cooling off after exploring. Highly recommended!

A lovely host family in Ubud

We liked staying with mita and her family, she is a very welcoming host who tried hard with lots of thoughtful touches to make our stay as nice as possible. Breakfast was lovely.

The property gets no sun at all apart from a tiny little bit on one balcony so the pool is quite cold and there is nowhere to sunbathe.

Right in the heart of Ubud, walking distance to Main Street.

Mika welcomed us like we were family ❤️ she has a beautiful soul, unfortunately due to the pollution in Ubud, we were not able to stay for long. Mika was very understanding and offered us any help we needed. Amazing location if you want to be right in the middle of Ubud. Great silver making shop directly opposite Danu house.

Nothing we didn’t like about the property other than the pool was a little too cold for us.

Feel at home at DANU House

We had an excellent stay with our two daughters (10 & 12). Mita and her family made us feel right at home. We felt safe, the facility was excellent, breakfast was amazing, and the family was able to be hired to drive us to some local spots. Will return!

Villa that makes you feel like part of the fam!

EVERYTHING! Stayed here for my first visit to Ubud and couldn’t be happier. The location is fantastic, only a short walk to the bustling streets but is so quiet and peaceful you’d think you were miles away! The rooms are all lockable (one with safe included), beds are comfy, and the aircon is great. Mita’s breakfast was delicious and she was always willing to help with suggestions of what to do and where to go. From organising a sunrise jeep tour to fire dance shows it was simple and easy. Additional shout out to Nyoman for driving us from activity to activity, without which we probably wouldn’t have seen or done, and he’ll get you there before the tours! Even left my adapter and charger there, was called within minutes so I could get it back 🙏 Can’t fault it, can’t wait to come back!!

Would definitely recommend this beautiful place and kind host

Beautiful place, quiet area no noise from the busy street. Very kind people and nice private house with lots of facilities including fast aircon, mosquito nets, cooking facility and washing machine. Excellent breakfast and mineral water machine is very useful

Mostly perfect, just small disadvantage is that it are 4 separate rooms connected via outside: 2x bedroom, 1x living, 1x kitchen. Difficult to hear kids if aircon is on. And you cannot lock the doors of the rooms, only garden gate.

Beautiful Danu House

Our stay at Danu House was incredibly special. Mita and the Danu family made us feel so comfortable and were ready to help with anything we needed. It was a beautiful experience staying inside the family compound and learning about daily Balinese life. Our daily breakfast was delicious and the villa and pool was a great place for us to relax and unwind. The location was a 10 minute walk from the heart of Ubud and very close to a lot of restaurants, shopping, spas and yoga schools.

Clean and nice environment and very helpful host!

It has been a pleasant stay at Danu house and host Mita was very helpful before/during the stay. She was easily reached over whatsapp and helped us to arrange for airport transfer service as well as a driver (her dad) for sightseeing. She also helped us make arrangements for the jeep tour to Mt Batur. Timing for breakfast was also very flexible and Mita was very accommodating.

Perfectly located for our family, super quiet but only a stones throw away from the action. Mita and her family are incredibly friendly and willing to make sure everything was as you needed. This property had everything we needed - large bedrooms each with its own en-suite bathroom, dining area with full-sized fridge and water, lounge area with tv, all rooms with air conditioning, private pool. A WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY!!! *Chef's Kiss*

This stay was amazing!!! The hospitality, the room, the patio, the entire villa was just LOVELY. The hen I needed more towels, when I needed directions, when I needed suggestions, when I was leaving at 4am to drive to lempuyang... guess who got up at 3am to make a delicious breakfast for me before I left? I can't speak highly enough about this place and Mita, who was there to help me every step of the way. Now, about the rooms, on the ground floor there is a dinning room on one side and another room -living with with a couch, tv, etc on the other. Up 1 flight of stairs, are the 2 bedrooms. Each with a queen bed(if I'm not mistaken). Very comfortable and enough space to move about. & All 4 rooms had their own bathroom! There's even a small kitchen area with a 2 burner stove. I'm sad I was too busy to have a dip in the pool, but it gave a very nice aesthetic none the less. Thank you Mita & Danu House!!

Recommend here to stay in Ubud city center with family

Our two days at Danuhouse was a great way to experience the culture and life of Bali. Firstly, the accommodation was very comfortable and spacious, with four rooms and four bathrooms in a two-storey house, and it was located inside a large Balinese family home, so we were able to see up close how Balinese people live. We were there during the Galungan holiday, so we were able to see the family temple decorated and the preparations for the holiday. Our host, Mita, was very kind and helpful from check-in to check-out. She helped us arrange everything we needed (massages, restaurants, events, etc.). Thanks to her, we were able to order delivery from a nearby restaurant and relax with an on-site massage. We also loved the Kecak dance performance which held a 5 minute walk away, and my second daughter probably had the best time watching it out of our many experiences in Bali. I also really appreciated the fact that Mita cooked breakfast for my daughters as there are many things they are allergic to. There was a washing machine in the house, so I felt like it was a good option for a longer stay. And Yogabarn was also only a 20 minute walk away, which was great for early morning classes. I highly recommend this place to anyone (especially families) staying in Ubud city~!

Best place in ubud

Amazing all around! From the absolutely lovely host to the pool and the beds. Be sure to also check out the kecak dance around the corner- we went there upon the recommendation of Mita, the landlady, and it was a fantastic performance. Seriously can't recommend this place enough ❤️

Superb

My husband and I and our 13 year old daughter stayed at Danu House for four nights in July and we can’t recommend this accommodation highly enough. The villa is in its own small compound inside the family compound and is a quiet sanctuary away from the traffic and busyness of Ubud. There are two spacious bedrooms upstairs, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom, and a verandah overlooking the plunge pool and across the surrounding rooftops. Downstairs is a lounge room with TV and dining room with fridge, each also with its own bathroom. There is a little kitchenette in the stairwell. Mita was our main contact; she was attentive and always helpful. For instance, she lent us sarong and sashes to attend the village cremation ceremony. Staying inside the extended-family compound offers the opportunity to see and feel how a typical family live. They are all smiling and welcoming and the vibe is a distillation of Balinese calm and friendliness. I always looked forward to climbing the stairs from the street and entering the compound and being enveloped by the peacefulness within. Mita's lovely father-in-law, Nyoman, is available to drive guests locally around Ubud and her cousin Wahyu can pick you up from the airport and take you on longer trips. The compound is about fifteen minutes walk from the palace and market at the centre of town. It's basically walking distance to almost everything in central Ubud, if you can stand the traffic which, visiting for the first time in fifteen years, I think is suffocating the town. There are simply too many cars and motorbikes and scooters and too many tourists attempting to thread their way between it all. And Danu House is the sanctuary you need to survive it all. And as ever, when you leave the noise and congestion behind, and the heart of Ubud is still there, gentle, welcoming, patient and hospitable.

Quiet street location only a short walk from ubud centre. Mita and her family are exceptional. they made our stay so welcoming, comfortable and safe. we felt apart of the family. being inside their family compound where our kids could play together was a priceless experience. having the family run shop right out side was also wonderful and convenient. Mita’s father is also a taxi driver that has a wonderful knowledge and was available for anything we needed. also you can hire a scooter right from the villa! Our included breakfast was beautiful every morning with the pancakes being a huge hit with our kids. The facilities were immaculately kept. multiple bathrooms. each room air conditioned. everything you can ever need!! Every time we left for an outing or dinner, the entire host family would come to the street and see us off. Even allowing the kids to feed the fish EVERYTIME!! a level of service and thoughtfulness we have never experienced. We would normally stay in different places as we travel to Bali often to experience different villas. but now we will ONLY stay at Danu House. No words can really say how much we have appreciated and loved our stay, but to try sum it up.. our kids cried and said they did NOT want to go. Memories we will truly cherish always. Thank you so much again.

It was a wonderful time here at Danu House ! Mita is so nice and helpful! Nyoman - I won't be able to forget your cheerfulness in a hurry ! Danu House is located a few minutes' walk from Ubud's main street, yet it is quiet here. You feel very comfortable. The villa is very clean and comfortable. Thank you so much dear Mita! Très spacieux, calme, aménagé avec goût. Une belle sensation de haut de gamme dans un environnement familial. Vsechno bylo perfektni. Hostitelka byla velmi mila a pecujici. Cela jeji rodina byla velmi prijemna a navozovala perfektni rodinou atmosferu. Mita nam zaridila anglicky mluviciho ridice, masaze na pokoj. Cokoli jsme potrebovali nam poradila. Vybaveni bylo plne dostacujici, ubytovani je kousek od centra.

En el interior de una casa balinesa, un auténtico remanso de paz. Piscina (aunque un poco fría en la época en la que fuimos). Habitaciones amplias y camas muy cómodas Muy buena atención. Lo suficientemente alejada del bullicio del centro de Ubud pero perfectamente accesible a pie (15 min) Un par de buenos restaurantes muy ricos a poca distancia

Necesita algunas reparaciones, sobre todo en relación a la humedad (cuando llovía uno de los baños tenía una gotera y se mojaba el suelo). Intenso olor a humedad en el salón (en la planta baja)

Un sejur minunat ! Cazarea , micul dejun , curatenia , facilitatile mi-au depasit asteptarile ! Gazda noastra Mita a fost extraordinara ! Era intotdeauna acolo pentru noi ! Ne-a servit un mic dejun minunat, cu fructe si sucuri proaspete, ne-a organizat sedinte de masaj ( chiar si la ore nu tocmai potrivite), iar nepotul Wahyu ne-a plimbat prin toate locurile minunate din Bali ! Toata familia de la Danu House a fost foarte primitoare si amabila ! Nu puteam sa ne dorim mai mult ! Multumim Mita si familiei tale frumoase !
