About this cottage rental

Charming 1800’s cottage with rural surroundings, pleasant and peaceful. The perfect place to slow down and rewind. Enjoy your coffee with wide country views. Curl up and read a book, write, play board games or just relax. There is ample parking. Near to host house, we will let you have complete privacy, but are nearby for help or information. 20 minutes to Purdue campus.

The downstairs has the couch that converts to a full sized bed, also the dining room table, smart tv, many books and games. The kitchen and bathroom are also downstairs.

If you climb the steep stairs, there is a little sitting room with a futon and two vintage chairs. Through that doorway there is an attic shaped room with a single bed, small electric fireplace and chairs.

There is a front porch and a back deck and yard all enclosed in a picket fence.

Quiet and peaceful historic cottage conveniently locatedin a beautiful setting. Stayed here to help my student move into Purdue but, I did not want to be stuck downtown. The hosts were fantastic, very accommodating and helpful! Well provisioned and the bed was super comfortable. Wish I had more time there, will definitely stay again in the future when visiting my student.

We really enjoyed little house. The owners were so kind and very easy to work with. This was for a small relaxing bachelorette getaway for my sister. Mike and Jacci were just wonderful! Was great for a 1 night stay. Will for sure be renting again.

Our stay was peaceful and full of amenities, including delicious homemade cookies. The private and spacious guest house offered ample parking and beautiful scenery. Jacci, our host, was responsive and kind throughout our stay, even providing fresh grapes in the fridge. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay with wonderful hosts, conveniently located a short drive from Purdue campus.

Very cute small house adjacent to the hosts property. I loved the location being in a quiet and beautiful countryside. Really nice outdoor area I wish I would have had more time to enjoy. It would be a great writing getaway. Host had excellent communication. Place was clean and safe which is what I needed. The stairs are no joke. I chose to stay on the downstairs pullout, which worked fine for me. Thank you!

We just stayed one night. Took a quick trip to see Penn State vs Purdue. Great communication with owner as we planned the trip. They worked with us for an earlier check in. Place was clean. Very cute little house. There is a small bed upstairs so my wife and I had to sleep on the pullout bed. That is the only "negative" but we knew we would be sleeping on a pullout from the start. Other than that...we loved it and would highly recommend. Especially for a quick, one night stay/trip.

This stay is special! Interesting history, that you can read about when you stay here. Lots of fun items to see inside the house including a small electric fireplace and rotary dial phone. Very sweet of the owners to provide homemade chocolate chip cookies, too.

Our stay was perfect and the house was just as described. I was traveling with my dad who is almost 80 so the pull out couch in the living room worked very well. I was able to go up the stairs, they are narrow, both worth the climb for two perfect rooms on the second floor. The upstairs has a twin bed but there is enough room for a queen air mattress. All the amenities as described were in the house plus we were welcome with fresh chocolate chip cookies and a great coffee bar for the morning. Purdue is about 20 minutes and very easy to travel back and forth for a football game. Highly recommend if the sleeping situation meets your needs.

Rural area, small cottage. Old house but very quiet. Steps to the second floor are quite steep/tall between steps! Wonderful host, and very hospitable, including snacks and homemade cookies awaited us! A little dust and a couple of bugs, but nothing out of the ordinary. 5 stars.

This place is a perfect little house. My son and I were in the area for a motocross race at Wildcat Creek MX. Place was perfect for what we needed for the night, very clean, & comfortable. A nice short drive to the race track. Definitely would stay there again.

Loved everything except sleeping. Only 1 twin bed. No box spring and mattress wasn’t comfortable. Had hide a bed couch, air mattress and futon. No real beds. We both had bad night sleep.

There were just two of us, and we really enjoyed our stay at this cozy little house. Jacci and Mike are very nice to deal with and had great communications. If you are going to stay here, keep in mind that the stairs going to the top floor could be a bit of a challenge due to their steepness. And there is only one bathroom on the main floor. But we really did not have a problem with the set up. It worked fine for us. In summary, the hosts are very gracious and accommodating and this is a nice little place. There were very nice little touches, such as homemade chocolate chip cookies and snacks. We would stay here again.

Jacci was such a gracious hostess. She was very flexible with our checking in, thank goodness. We really appreciated it. My brother and I always meet for the Oaken Bucket game and the Little House was a great place for my son, and I to crash afterwards. When I went to bed upstairs, it was like traveling back in time-so comfy cozy! ***I ended up leaving my debit card back on the table and she was so sweet to get it in the mail immediately. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DELIGHTFUL SPOT IN THE FIELDS OF INDIANA!

It was pretty close to perfect for my purpose, which was a safe place to stay overnight on a long road trip. The stairs were very cheap--I didn't realize that the primary bed was the pull-out sofa! The upstairs bed isn't that comfortable so if I stayed again, I'd definitely stay on the sofa bed. It was a cute, functional little place and the host was very responsive to all my needs, and left me some cute snacks and cookies and coffee and such.

I highly recommend this property. The hosts have thought of every eventuality and even left us delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies! They are also so fun to communicate with and eased my concerns about even the smallest issue!! (Please keep in mind that when they say there are steep stairs to the 2nd floor, they are serious - but climbing those stairs was extremely worthwhile!!!!) Wonderful and calm and comfortable!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is adorable and had everything we needed. It was so quiet and we slept so well here. Jacci and Mike were outstanding hosts! There were homemade cookies and snacks and they even loaned us coolers for the Purdue football tailgate. Only 20 minutes from campus and was an easy drive. We chose to road-trip it from Maryland to Lafayette to celebrate our 50th anniversary, and we’re very happy to have chosen to stay here. Jacci and Mike are kind and gracious hosts, the country setting was perfect and a close drive to the Purdue campus. Thank you for the homemade cookies, bottled water, garden tomatoes, hummingbirds, and charming vibe of your little house. We are VRBO hosts ourselves and greatly appreciate all that was done to make our stay fun and comfortable. We’d come back in a Boilermaker Heartbeat!!

This is a nice rural house in the corn fields by Lafayette Indiana. The house has a lot of character and impressive history. For us was perfect since it is located 20 mins from Purdue.

Our stay was brief due to spending late hours moving our son into Purdue. We appreciated the extra touches such as snacks and homegrown tomatoes and drinks that helped revive us in our exhaustion. Jacqueline was a thoughtful host and we enjoyed the whimsical decor.

This was the perfect place for our weekend in Lafayette! We loved the country setting--surrounded by farm fields, lighting bugs, and peace/quiet. Jacci is a fantastic hostess. Clean bedding and towels, coffee and sweet treats, and a nicely stocked kitchenette. Such a wonderful history of the property as well! Only 15-20 minutes away from anywhere we needed to be in Lafayette. No disappointment with this beautiful and quaint "Little House" for a delightful weekend.
