Nice cosy cottage , walking distance to Town centre.

There wasn’t any blinds in the Bathroom though the glass window was frosted, I only found out on my last night that it was fairly visible from the outside when one takes showers in the night which we did !

Very good
Semur en Auxois is a very nice place to stay for a few days, and this is in a good position as a base. A lovely walk down the back street to the river, and then up the ramparts to the shops/restaurants. Good exercise! Plenty to do in the area too. Quiet spot being out of town. Decent equipped kitchen, although a small oven would have been a bonus (a combi microwave maybe?). Linen/towels good and bed comfy enough. Plenty of hot hot water. A good shower. As I get older a toilet downstairs (wooden circular) in the night required careful negotiating! But I came to no harm. I noticed a stair gate for anyone with kiddies (or older nervous people!). A responsive host. Great to be able to park outside easily. I'd recommend Semur en Auxois.
Garden could do with a tidy up for sitting out in, for my taste but there is some furniture; I did deadhead a few roses. A fair few fly's around, perhaps the time of year.

Ein ruhig gelegenes, charmantes Haus in einer stimmungsvollen, alten Stadt
Zuvorkommender Empfang mit Tipps für die Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Umgebung. Ein sehr schön renoviertes altes Häuschen, stilecht mit Holzbalken und alten Steinen liebevoll gestaltet. Vom Essbereich mit schönem alten Holztisch blickt man in einen verwunschenen, kleinen Garten, durch eine Tür von dort aus erreichbar. Vollkommen ruhige Lage, man schläft wunderbar. Hinter dem Haus geht man ein paar Minuten an blühenden Gärten vorbei, um in die Stadt zu gelangen. Die Altstadt ist sehr sehenswert - es empfiehlt sich dabei, die befahrene Hauptstraße zu vermeiden.
Ein bisschen mehr Licht wäre schön, z.B. Deckenlampen in den Schlafzimmern. Die Ausstattung ist zwar geschmackvoll, aber nicht immer ganz praktisch: In der Küche gibt es etwa 25 Teller, aber nur 2 Tassen. Das sind aber nur Kleinigkeiten, insgesamt hat es uns gut gefallen. Für Touren in die Umgebung ist ein Auto empfehlenswert. Busse fahren kaum, der nächste Bahnhof ist 26 km entfernt.
