The long paved driveway offers ample parking for boats, snowmobiles, ATVs, or trailers, making this an ideal base camp for Central Oregon adventures.

🔥 Fire Pit & Firewood (Important)
The property has an outdoor fire pit, but firewood is not provided. Guests may purchase firewood locally. Outdoor fires are regulated by the La Pine Fire District, and seasonal restrictions are common, especially in summer and early fall. Guests must call the La Pine Rural Fire Protection District burn line before using the fire pit to confirm whether fires are allowed during their stay. Burn status can change daily based on conditions.

🎣 Fishing & River Access
The property sits directly on the Big Deschutes River, with easy river access from the adjacent trail. Fishing from the riverfront is popular, with both fly fishing and spin fishing depending on season and conditions. Just minutes away is Fall River, known for world-class fly fishing, along with Fall River Falls — a scenic and easy hike. A valid Oregon fishing license is required. Licenses are easy to purchase online or at local sporting goods stores in Sunriver or Bend, and current regulations apply to the Deschutes River.

While the riverbank directly below the cabin is steep, the nearby access trail allows easy entry to the water within a short walk.

🐾 Dog-Friendly
We love dogs and welcome yours too! An additional pet fee applies. Please let us know in advance if your dog(s) will be joining you. There is a fenced side yard next to the house and deck, with the hot tub in it.

The home is right next to an open space area which makes it feel very private. It is a short walk to a launch point for river access and kayaking. The host provides kayaks which is really a great bonus. There is no direct river access from the property, which at first was a bit disappointing, but the nearby access turned out to be fine, though it's not a sand entry, it's reeds and mud. The beds & bedding were all very comfortable. One of the bathroom shower faucets broke and the owner had to send in a plumber to get it fixed. This turned out to be fine, but it was a bit frustrating when it happened as we were a family with six adults including inlaws who didn't exactly want to share a bathroom. The main reason for being less than 5 stars is the kitchen was not as well equipped as we hoped. Upon arrival after a very long drive, and wanting to make dinner, we discovered the can opener was broken and we had to open the can of tomatoes with a bottle opener. The host did send a replacement which we appreciated, but it was a bit frustrating when being exhausted and just wanting to eat and rest. The sink faucet was also so clogged that it took several minutes to fill a pot to boil for pasta. Also the microwave handle was loose and difficult to open. The pots and pans and cooking utensils were of poor quality, plastic & flimsy, melted, and with chipping nonstick surfaces.Overall the home felt a little less cozy that we'd hoped.

The property has a lovely river view and the decor is cute. The bed was very comfortable. The downsides were when we arrived the place was freezing and no heat was on. It took hours for it to heat up. We stayed during the winter Also the jacuzzi would not heat up so we didn’t use it during our stay.
