1 Bedroom self contained apartment in Christchurch

Spacious and well appointed with good kitchen and bathroom facilities. Hosts who were non intrusive but available if needed.

Nothing. It was all excellent.

This very cute 1 bedroom accommodation is like a home from home. Exceptionally clean and well maintained, with modern decor. Its fully equipped kitchen allows you to cook full meals if that's what you wish to do. Induction hob, and full sized oven, along with detailed instructions of how to use it. There is also a full sized fridge freezer, and a dishwasher! Kettle, toaster and microwave! Plenty of crockery, mugs and glasses. Cooking utensils are in abundance. You honestly couldn't ask for more. The living room is spacious and comfortable. 2 sofas, ambient lighting, coffee table. Large TV with all digital channels including movies and sports. Bedroom is spacious with a very comfortable double bed. A decent sized wardrobe for storage, dressing table and night stands either side of the bed. Ensuite shower room, very clean and modern. Exceptional powerful shower. Towels and bed linen provided, along with toilet paper. There are cleaning products available also. Rooms are very light and airy. Parking is available on the street. Very pleasant and quite area. Host Dina met us apon arrival, and was very pleasant and helpful. There are shops, and restaurants within walking distance. Great value for money, which exceeded our expectations.

When we arrived, we were a little taken back by the amount of vehicles on the driveway, and thought perhaps we had the wrong address. We called the number provided and spoke with Diana, who then met us at the front of the property. She explained that her and her family live in the house attached out the back. This is not explained in the description of the property, and although it did not pose any problem to us, I feel it may to some. Diana explained that she and her family were having guests over that evening, and that she was expecting everyone to be gone by 12am. Again, we didn't have a problem with this, but can imagine some guests might. Unbeknown to us, there is a door marked private as you enter the accommodation. I can only gather this door leads directly to the kitchen of the main house, as we could very clearly hear people talking. Again, this may bother potential guests of the accommodation. The only other down side I could say about this lovely place, is that there is no private outside space to enjoy. Over all we enjoyed our stay here, and would return again. Thank you Diana for a wonderful stay.

Induction hob. Used to a gas hob.

It was so cute and bijou and all that I needed was provided. Plus it was quiet - in the main - and very comfortable. The street was quiet too. And Christchurch centre is only a 25 minute walk away.

No tray to eat food outside the kitchen. The kitchen looks right into the next door neighbour’s living room and that was a bit uncomfortable. Once the guy there was topless but hopefully no more - I ran 😅 Then you have the strangeness of the owners actually being in situ before the door marked private. I jumped a mile when I heard a loud voice nearby as I thought it was a burglar in the house. I did feel safer knowing they were so close but I also learned that they were having aubergines at their dinner party that night 😅. Pillows weren’t great - a choice of soft medium or hard might be good? Communication is a little bit bit and miss too.
