Hotel Pushpak Satara

Best in cleanliness, location in affordable price

I stayed for 4 nights due to some work reasons. Hotel is close to Satara ST bus depot on a walking distance of 6 to 8 mins. About 7 km from Satara railway station. Below are my views about the hotel Pushpak. 1. Entrance of hotel is like OYO hotels though they say unmarried couples are not allowed. The reception is at 2nd floor. So after taking the stairs outside the building you have to go from a narrow passage to access the lift and go to reception at 2nd floor. I checked in late by almost 5 hours and Check in process was short. 2. Room was clean enough but not completely clean. I found some dusty corners in the room. Washroom were clean upto the expectations. Chairs in the room were looking dull and their cushions were looking dusty may be due to ageing and brown colour. 3. It's a common gesture throughout the good hotels to provide mineral water bottles to guests. This was missing here. 4. It was mentioned king size bed in room specifications however got 2 single beds joined together to form a king size bed. So the mattresses were having gap causing discomfort while you sleep. 5. There was no hot kettle and tea- coffee, sugar sachets in any of the rooms. So if you want to have tea you have to either go on yourself to get it from tea stall below the hotel or you have to call reception to send some one and get it for you which is again a lengthy process. Because after you call reception they will either forget or take their time to send the person. Person will first come to you and take money and then he will go. I waited for nearly 45-50 mins for a cup of tea. 6. Rest other facilities like AC, TV and hot/cold water is excellent. 7. Bed linens and pillow cover was having some spots over it which i asked to get it changed. After changing i got the similar ones. 8. In hotel pictures you can see a restaurant just below the hotel building however it is not operational and permanently closed. There is no nearby descent restaurant in a vicinity of atleast 1 km and you will have to cover a good distance to find out a good restaurant. If you don't have your own vehicle then remember autorickshaw is an expensive option as they charge like anything. For a distance of 1km they charge min. 40Rs. So for 3-4km you will end up paying 100-120rs. 9. Hotel staff is very rigid on check out time even if there are no further bookings for the room they will say there are online bookings for rooms. And still if you request more they will help you at extra cost which is more than 50% of the day's charge and now they have room available and there are no online bookings. Very amazing. Since i visited in month of May and the temperature outside was 40degree i was requesting for extension till 3 pm as i was having reservation of return train scheduled at 4:30pm. Check in time is 12pm and check out is 11am. So overall if you are ready to compromise on certain things and are happy with basic offerings you can go for it. However the hotel needs to get revamped drastically with respect to their entrance, reception, Pantry services, general services, etc.
