On the Straits

A great base to explore Anglesey and local areas across the bridges. Choice of many places to eat and drink nearby.

The property was a 2 bed apartment in a historic building split over 2 floors - the downstairs of the property was kitchen, toilet, lounge and bedroom with en-suite. The downstairs of the property had not been cleaned property for a long time as there was a substantial amount of dust under the double bed and cobwebs behind the bed headrest and in most of the corners of the bedroom. Underneath the settee in the main lounge had not been cleaned for a while and cobwebs behind the door to kitchen / lounge were also present. Bearing in mind this property had been rented out the previous week with those people leaving on the day we arrived and we saw the cleaner at the property on arrival the presence of cobwebs spoilt the holiday. Also the kitchen tap dripped non stop - this was noted in the visitors book dated 2 weeks previously. We rang the contact number listed the following day of arrival at midday but the phone was not switched on and as requested left a text message - there was no response that day or any other day of our 4 day stay. No welcome pack - although other recent visitors had received one. Property needs a proper deep clean.

The apartment itself you couldn’t fault, everything you could possibly need was there, ( apart from a sun umbrella) home from home.

The reason it “ didn’t meet expectations “ was I was looking forward to sitting ,chilling, looking out at a fantastic view of the Menai straits as shown in the description photograph and sea view. Yes sitting on the terrace you could stretch and see the straits , but we had a lovely view of the car park and the weeds on the terrace. Granted there were chairs / rugs / even a picnic basket to take to the community garden at the front, but I wanted the view even in the rain ! The property (if you weren’t fit) was quite a way out, of Beaumaris, tried walking it but there was no pavement for 1 mile , unsafe we had to turn back. The steps ,75, down to the local pub , were slippery with moss and overgrown with brambles, so you do need a car. I know thou cant change the view but at least don’t mislead people.

Clean, size and featured.

The ads shows beautiful view and it is technically a misled. There is no sea view and no mountain view from any windows or doors, except for a small glimpse of water view from a difficult angle. The worst is that, when you relax in the sofa in front of living room French door, all you can see is a car park and the road leading to the car park. The property locates in a beautiful place and however the residence in this property has nothing to do with the views but has to pay a price for it.
