About this cabin rental
This little one-room cabin is ADORABLE! It has everything you need (and nothing you don't) for a quiet getaway to fill your soul. It has lots of light from large windows looking out at the woods and the Amnicon River valley, and access to hiking trails and our large private sandy beach on the South Shore of Lake Superior.
Here are a few things you'll want to know before you book this cabin:
- The cabin is clean, comfortable, and elegant, but still quite rustic. The cabin is available year-round, with a propane fireplace for your main source of heat. It has electricity, but no running water. In the kitchenette is a water dispenser for washing & drinking. Adjacent to the cabin is your own private low-odor outhouse that has a little heater and a light you can turn on from inside the cabin. Just a one-minute walk from the cabin is the main lodge, which has public restrooms for showers and flushing toilets.
- There is no drive-in access to this cabin. You can unload your vehicle about a one or two-minute walk from the cabin. We offer hand carts and/or utility sleds for bringing luggage to the cabin. The cabin is down a slight hill from the unloading area. After you've unloaded your vehicle, we'll ask you to park your car back in the parking lot along the side of the road.
- We want to be as transparent as possible about what the cabin is like. In addition to the photos, we have a short 4-minute video tour that shows the layout and surroundings in more detail. We’re happy to share this video with you after booking or upon request. Just send us a message!

This is my 2nd time staying here. So quiet and peaceful. Hosts are available by phone but stay invisible unless you need something. Enough signage so you know what's what but not overbearing "rules" plastered all over the place.

A friend and I booked a cabin, "Solitude," for the weekend, after a recommendation from another friend. There had been storms the night before our arrival that damaged the road and prevented people from driving to the location, and the owner was very communicative about the status of the repairs throughout the day. Luckily, the township made the repairs promptly, and we were still able to have our trip. They had also communicated with us prior to our trip that our fireplace was not working and would not be able to be repaired until after our trip, but they provided us with a radiator and a discount. It worked perfectly for our needs and kept us very comfortable. The cabin was clean, tidy, and comfortable. The outhouse was the same. We had a bonfire the second night. There were matches and some kindling in the cabin. A few things we would bring next time are: paper towels, and a little more kindling/Fire starters. Otherwise, the cabin had everything we needed. Thank you so much!!

Hosts were available if you needed them, but out of sight if you didn't. Cabin was wonderfully cozy for an Easter weekend where Mother Nature did not cooperate: rain, sleet, snow. Maps of the grounds and trails to the lake were readily available, perfect mix of hiking the trails to the lake and reading a book in my cozy cabin for a 2 night stay. Wished I could've stayed longer.
