Casa La Victoria

Inside the apartment looked like it was recently renovated; everything was clean and new-ish. The host was very responsive and provided helpful information for travellers. The location was also great. All the places we wanted to visit were within walking distance.

There is some construction going on outside the building, and they start the work early in the morning. It was not much of an issue for us, but if you like to sleep in and need absolute quietness, you may want to factor it in. They don't work on the weekend :)

We had great communication with Ángeles the owner in advance of our holiday, when she provided us with lots of advance info about the good spots to visit on our holiday, where the nearest shops are etc. We messaged her when we got in the taxi at the airport so she knew when to come and meet us with the keys. Ángeles then gave us a quick tour of where everything was in the flat and how everything worked. The apartment is spotlessly clean and beautifully presented, with pristine white walls hung with Ángeles' own lovely paintings, and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The apartment itself is in Lagunillas, a down-to-earth residential barrio away from all the hustle and bustle but within really quick walking distance of Plaza Merced. The area was undergoing quite a bit of roadworks while we were there, but it didn't impede our enjoyment of our holiday or disturb us in any way. Lagunillas is famous for its street art and there are real gems to be found around every corner - not just in terms of the amazing murals, but also in terms of fresh fruit, great wine, smooth coffee and freshly baked bagels and empanadas we found a mere hop, skip and jump from the apartment. My sister and I really settled in and loved our week's stay so much we were really sad to leave!

This is not a dislike, it's just a little advice. Casa La Victoria isn't the apartment for you if a) you're visiting Málaga in all-night party mode and are planning to roll home singing in the wee small hours of the morning, or b) if you're looking for complete peace and quiet around the clock. The apartment is in an old building which isn't soundproof, i.e. you will hear the neighbours talking, and they will hear you. We didn't have any problem with that, given that my sister and I both live in apartments back home. Having said the above, I do want to stress that the area is quiet at night and we had no problems sleeping. We chose Casa La Victoria precisely because it wasn't on a main street where we'd have mopeds and scooters buzzing past all night, and we absolutely made the right choice. I thoroughly recommend Ángeles' lovely flat to you.

Location is great. Host was amazing and very Accomadation.

If you’re a light sleeper bring earplugs. Walls are thin so you hear the neighbours every move. Didn’t bother me too much though

Beautiful, super clean apartment. Very thoughtful touches. Lots of fluffy towels. Helpful tourist information. Not a generic hotel chain but an actual residential building. Only 5 minutes walk to the beautiful Old Town.
