Every time I come back to this charming 1920s home near Edgewater Beach, we notice more thoughtful updates and renovations. On this visit, I loved the new trim colors on both the front and back porches—such a fresh, welcoming touch. The outdoor furniture was fun and inviting, and all the fall chrysanthemums really brought the porches to life.Inside, the third floor has been set up beautifully. With a desk, a futon, a double bed, and a twin. It felt cozy and practical.I also appreciated that the window air conditioning units were still in place—it was a warm day, and they kept everything comfortable. As always, the house was immaculately clean and wonderfully organized. This home just keeps getting better with every stay, and I can’t wait to come back again.

Fortunately, it was fairly cool while we were there. Many of the windows don't open, or don't have screens. The AC units reek of mildew. The windows themselves were filthy. Furnishings are old and tattered. The house itself has great potential and is in nice, upcoming area. 10 minute walk to the lake. I hope the owner fixes it up because it could be a fantastic property.

Imagine a summer hideaway to host Alice in Wonderland and Gatsby--the Edgewater Bohemian Beach Clubhouse would be it!Just 5-min on foot from the soft sands of Lake Erie’s beaches, this house is a time-traveling art installation—equal parts Victorian, Boho, and whimsical fantasy. The entryway greets you with authentic gold wallpaper that gleams like a royal welcome. Each floor is its own curated world, complete with not one, not two, but THREE unique kitchens. The blue and white kitchen on the second floor was our favorite, crowned by a chandelier that belongs in an opera house but somehow feels right at home here. And then there’s the stained glass room, a kaleidoscope of light and color that felt like sitting inside a jewel box. We spent hours just soaking in the mood, reading, daydreaming, and admiring the environment.Every detail in the house is dripping with personality, history, and a magic. This is a place to be inspired. Bravo to the creator of this mad, beautiful masterpiece.

We were hoping for a 5-star stay, leading to a 5-star review. Sadly, that was not the case. Despite our host being nice, and accommodating, there were things that could not be remedied while the VRBO was occupied. They should have been taken care of prior to our stay. Some main issues:•Overwhelming, moldy, mildewy smell emanating from basement and mud room. Mushrooms were growing in basement walls. Tiles fell off the walls when walking down the stairs to wash towels.•Centipedes in 1st and 2nd floor bedrooms and bathrooms. •Dirty air-conditioning units with bug casings in window sills and dirty windows, dust under beds. Dirty pots and pans 1st floor.•Insufficient electrical to run all bedroom a/c units at the same time even when common area units were off. No hairdryers were used. Lights in 1st floor the kitchen went on and off when opening the refrigerator door. •Paint fragments blew around bonus room if fan was used. The host gave use of this room w/out charge, but once A/C blew a fuse, it went to triple digits and the space was unusable. Paint fragments from ceiling littered stairwell to 2nd floor.•There was active water damage on some ceilings. •Instead of ice cubes in the 1st floor freezer, there were full size paint brushes. Maybe used to paint over tiles in 1st floor bathroom?•We would not stay here again.•We did not ask for any compensation. The porch was nice. We made good use of our time together out there.

Great location and wonderful spaces to have a large group gathering. We came in December to see some shows at the Beck Arts Center and eat great food at neighborhood places. The neighborhood was fantastic and the house was wonderful for our large group. Check in was easy and parking for 2 vehicles was perfect. Due to the cold weather, we did need to utilize a space heater and shut the doors to the living room to stay warm during our downtime. Beds were very clean and comfortable and showers were great. We would definitely stay here again. We would LOVE to see what the place is like in the summer with the beach!

Our trip entailed 9 people from St. Louis, Denver, Charlotte and Boone, NC, to celebrate Thanksgiving. The host, Susan, was accommodating and attentive. She even bought a roaster for the property so we could make a turkey. The house itself is in an excellent location and one-of-a-kind. We would definitely consider staying there next year.

This large home provided a unique experience for our family and friends visiting the area for a long weekend. The antique décor was fun and we loved the charm. Still plenty of modern amenities with the 3 nice bathrooms and multiple TV’s. The kitchen(s) where stocked well enough to cook family breakfast. The location was great – only 10 minutes to drive downtown or 5 minutes to walk to the beaches and parks. The communication with the host was excellent and everything was as we expected. Definitely recommend this for large groups looking to stay near Cleveland.

The house worked very well for our weekend gathering of 6. Everyone had their own bedroom and there are good places for everyone to gather and hang out. The house is quirky but that was fine with us and added to the fun!

Enjoyed the house but need to look at the window on the second floor. It looks like There’s a broken window that will not close and won’t lock and possibly needs replaced other than that enjoyed ourselves

Traveled to Cleveland for a downtown wedding with three adult children and their SO's. Perfect quirky house to hang or find space, and a great spot with beach and park access, and ridiculously easy access to all things downtown.

No power during our stay, middle of the summer. Had been a storm and trees down, roads closed etc.. last day a generator was brought but could only run a couple cords. Besides that, place was fine.

We spent 8 lovely days at Susan's house for a long July fourth holiday. We have family in Cleveland, so we were looking for a property that could host dinner gatherings as well as accommodate my elderly parents who needed a first floor bedroom and bathroom. The house was perfect for our extended family to spread out and enjoy communal spaces as well as have privacy when needed. The beds were so comfortable, and our favorite gathering spot was the large front porch where we played countless hours of cards. The new grill was a major plus and we enjoyed cooking out ribs and brats for the holiday weekend. Susan was super responsive (even though she was in France performing as a professional harpist!) and we had no issues at all during our stay. My mom enjoyed the great cable package on TV, and my kids adored the top floor loft area. Truly magical! The beach is a short walk from the house and there are a lot of areas to explore and great places to eat. Downtown is super close, so this is an ideal spot for whatever kind of holiday you are looking for. We would happily return in any season to enjoy this wonderful property!

We had a job in Cleveland and had to send 5 guys to stay. The guys enjoyed having their own bedrooms and the multiple kitchens within the property. There is a lot of space in this house. We would highly recommend as there is also a lot of parking onsite as well.

Enjoyed our stay in Edgewater Park! This location has so many convivences like great rated restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores within minutes. The atmosphere was comfy and decorated quite lovely giving a romantic Victorian vibe. I loved it. Also, the neighborhood park was quiet and secure. The beach and park are a walkable distance. Every bedroom was spacious and room enough to walk around in. All Kitchens and Bathrooms were well stocked with supplies. This home had so many getaway spaces for reading and relaxation while staying with a family of eight. I appreciated the owner being so accommodating and not having a rigid list of to do's or not to do's like some other Vrbo owners. I would highly recommend staying!

The host said this house was a maze and we agree. So much room to relax. It was also amazing!
We loved having 3 separate kitchens.
My one friend loved the vintage kitchen with the red retro appliances a rocking chair and a TV.
It's like everyone can have their own suite. Having a first floor full bath and 3 bedrooms helped with our friend who just had knee surgery- no need to navigate stairs.
My antique collector friend enjoyed the original oils from the 20's & the Victorian Lamp. I enjoyed the engineering of the dining room ceiling fan. Now my son wants one like that.
The AC units were all new & worked well for the hot summer days.
Squeaky clean, well maintained property and responsive host. We really appreciated the welcome book explaining everything.

The location of the house is nice as it is close to the parks and the front porch makes for great outdoor space for a large family. The house is as pictured: an older home with lots of furniture. Our group was let down by the lack of overall cleanliness, standard kitchenware and functioning items - like the clogged bathrooms mentioned in other reviews. Fortunately, the host was responsive to our inquiries when issues came up.

Me & my friends had a great time in Cleveland Ohio while staying at this home. The house has a very antique feeling to it & I personally love that. The neighborhood was extremely quiet & I hope we didn’t disturb the neighbors. The drive was was more than ample for us to park our cars & the front porch is very spacious. All in alI I rate it a 4.5 but they only give me a 4 or 5 star option. The host of this home responds extremely quick & is dry attentive to any questions I had which were not many. She is a sweetheart. ❤️

The location is great and so close to the park and lake. Unfortunately, the traffic was very loud. The house had many issues. Electricity was questionable. Could not run air conditioning without blowing fuse. Lamps had no electricity or plugs. Water backed up in the sink drains in bathroom. Ants on floor and counters. Window held close with a board. Would not rent again.

The house need some cleaning, however we checked in early and they don't have time to finish.

This was an all around 5 star stay. The house was incredible - so much thought put into each room, and so much to explore. The host, Susan, and her “Team Unicorn” made this an overwhelmingly positive stay for myself and the 7 guests I brought along. There is plenty of space and privacy for a large group - and we enjoyed a great brunch on the front porch and a relaxing game and movie night in on the second floor attached sunroom.
I will return to this property and others from this host in the future. There is so much to do in the area - and this house is in the heart of it all. Our group rented eScooters and rode from the VRBO to the beach. A perfect weekend in a perfect area! Checkout was simple and easy. You will love this stay!

Really enjoyed the house. Great location and plenty of room for all family members.

We had an excellent time at this sprawling Victorian home. So much space to meet together in the large rooms or break off for independent work in the many nooks and crannies. Plus we took frequent breaks to walk the path and look out over Lake Erie at Edgewater park, only 2 blocked away.
10.0 / 10.0
Huge house with multiple living, dining and bedrooms spread across multiple floors. The kids went straight for the third-floor loft and were barely seen until we were leaving. Folks who didn’t want to do stairs took first-floor rooms. Others grabbed rooms on the second floor. Morning ritual was a walk to Starbucks with a return along the Lake Erie shore. Full range of dining within a 15- minute drive (including Cleveland Vegan, Cravings Thai and Pier W overlooking the lake). Having grown up in Cleveland, I appreciated the historically authentic neighborhood architecture.
