Town: Chinley, a small village on the western edge of the Peak District National Park, is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Chinley's proximity to Kinder Scout brings in many hikers, and the village's many pubs, cafes, and restaurants provide for their needs. Serious hikers should make their way east from the village, over the verdant foothills, and up onto the rusty plateau of Kinder's moorland to begin their journey on the Pennine Way or Snake Pass. If you and your family are looking for a more sedate day, head west along the scenic Sett Valley Trail to New Mills, where you'll find the tranquil Torrs Riverside Park.
