Clean room , helpful staff , roof top pool excellent views , but access issues due to lack of handrails on the wide steps into hotel , about 8 , as well as no ramp , plus no handrails for the steps from indoor breakfast room to outdoor courtyard area , which is a pleasant area to have breakfast . Loud music , radio , played by pool bar irritating , unnecessary , most people arround pool wearing ear pods ! for some reason . Rooms at front of hotel lot of street noise due to being opposite a parcel delivery centre

The people at the reception desk are nice and gentle but the hotel is very bad conserved and need a restore (see pictures). I paid 475 euros for 3 nights so I expected MORE (I was also at Chania Chora Sfakion and Heraklion and the Hotels were nice and prives OK).

The hotel has an excellent location, so the beach, the old town and the restaurants were all within walking distance. Unfortunately, we didn't like the hotel's facilities, as many things are in need of renovation and weren't always cleaned properly. Nevertheless, we would recommend the hotel to travelers who want to reach everything on foot and only want to use the hotel for sleeping purposes.

The whole place smells like cigarettes, bathroom had what appeared to be black mold under the bathtub & there was hair on the floor from previous guests. All that being said the bed was really comfy & the area was close to all the fun restaurants but far enough away to be quiet

The staff are amazing! They were very helpful when we had a problem with the rented car, they talked (greek) to the renting car company and sorted things for us. Location is also great, near the beach area and the old town.

The beds were not comfortable. Everything is so old and not really functioning well. The room air conditioner hardly cooled the room but the bathroom wall hair dryer from the 1970's got so hot on the handle you finish drying your hair. Definitely should not have "Palace" in its name.

Great location. Parking is pretty difficult and the shower in the bathroom was setup a little different than is customary in the US. Other than that the place was great. Very nice hotel right in the heart of Rethymno Town, a short walk to the beach to the right and amazing dining and shopping to the left. Nice rooftop pool and bar, comfortable room, excellent breakfast buffet, lovely lobby. Great value. Thanassis and the rest of the staff were very courteous and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and loved Crete. I have a feeling this won't be our only visit! One word to fellow travelers from the U.S. -- the hotel doesn't provide towels to use at the pool and beach, so we had to buy our own at a local souvenir shop. Apparently this is considered standard practice by all the guests from Europe, but I've never had to provide my own beach towels before! LOL.

Myself and 3 friends stayed at the achillion palace for 4 nights, the welcome by thanasis was brilliant, the rooms were spacious and clean, bathroom was slightly dated. The location was 1 street from the beach and the bars, would certainly use this hotel again. Breakfast was also plentiful, local and continental. Can't wait to go back.

Very enjoyable break. People were lovely. Exceeded my expectations of Greece. We will return. Hotel is a little bit dated, but is very comfortable, and has everything you need. Surprised at lack of use of their very good Bar/Restaurant/Garden facilities on Ground floor. Only used for Breakfast. Roof Terrace/Pool area is nice. All amenities are close.
