Calligraphy House

Very cozy! And felt very much like a home. We originally planned on staying only 3 nights then extended it 3 more nights. Also even though the location is a bit far out, it was less touristy and very quiet, which we enjoyed. The host was kind as well, and we had access to the full kitchen and were able to prepare meals.

The location is about a 10 min walk from subway stations, but it was fine.

Koichi-san is a kind, patient person. I was able to have a nice stay at Kyoto.

Some guests do not respect certain rules, but it's not the owner's choice.

Beds were nice. Massage chair is a major bounus

Room was cold

Located in a quiet local neighbourhood. 7-11 opposite. Location was 20 mins walk to Fushimi Inari. You'll need to take a bus to the citi center.

I got the traditional room with tatami flooring. Space was ample for 2 pax. The room was not well maintained, with stains on some walls and holes in some window shields. Very basic provisions, towel, beds, traditional futons, no toothbrush. You could hear the traffic from the road at night and in the morning. 2nd floor Shower space is very small. 1 toilet on the second floor, but you'll have to go down to wash your hands. Perhaps this is the layout of the traditional housing. Host could be more cheerful and welcoming.
