Broomfields Country House

Breakfast was superb and freshly prepared each day. The hospitality of Martin and Lorna could not be faulted. They are wonderful hosts.

The double bedroom could have been a bit more spacious

Martin and Lorna share their lovely home with guests. Martin was a very attentive host and accomplished cook. It was lovely to meet Lorna on our last evening. They were happy to encage in conversation while being respectful of our space to relax. Being a drive to the town, we would recommend having a supper tray after a day's sightseeing rather going back out. Really well cooked and presented food with a glass of wine while gazing out at the garden view and hills beyond. Continental breakfast kept us going most of the day. Saved the cooked breakfast to the last morning, and the haggis was very tasty. All in all, it was a delightful stay.

Breakfast excellect

Lorna and Martin welcomed us warmly and graciously when we arrived in the late afternoon, after a long country drive. They immediately treated us to tea and cookies in their inviting and cosy home, which was a lovely touch. Our room was beautiful with every convenience. I must mention that the breakfast was outstanding as was the warmth of our two lovely hosts. We learned much about the Scottish border towns!
