The best hosts ever and such a perfect place!

I don't think we've ever met such loving care from the hosts as in Casa Avocado. Absolutely lovely and gorgeous property, full of character and little thoughtful things, was perfect place to explore Crete. Spotless clean with every little detail provided. When there was an issue with water pressure due to the local authority works, the hosts came about at 1 am in the morning to bring us a 6 pack of bottled water! And handmade cakes, fruit, breakfasts, fresh oranges - all of those little things made it the best place we've been to so far. Thank you!

Exceptional

The host Sylvia is just delightful, helpful and so welcoming. The villa is fabulous and just as the photos show... In fact better when you factor in the citrus trees that grow in the grounds. The electric gate front entrance adds to the sense of security and privacy. On arrival Sylvia explained everything we needed to know about the house and recommended where to eat locally. We discovered fresh food items such as bread, cheese, juice, milk, water and a fabulous cretan white wine waiting for us in the fridge, to tide us over until we could get to the local shops (in Taverontis a village about 4 mins drive away). The house has everything you need and is exceptionally clean and well looked after. The pool was regularly cleaned. After 3 days, towels were changed and bins emptied as you'd expect, but what we didn't expect was the beautiful bed decoration, complete with flowers and sweets. The basket of freshly picked oranges (from which we made fresh juice everyday), fresh homegrown salad in a basket and a cake left for us. So generous and thoughtful. We had 6 fabulous days here. A car is a must for exploring the beautiful beaches. But only an 11 min drive takes you to good beaches and brilliant Tavernas at Kolypari. It's also easy to get a taxi to Taverontis if you'd like a drink. And there is a beach here also. Sylvia kindly supplied a taxi number for us to use. Chania is 30 mins away and a must to visit as is Falassarna on the west coast, a 40 minute drive. We chose this over Balos as it still a has crystal clear waters and pink sand but is far more accessible. We headed early, but noticed many heading there for sunset. We were sad to leave. We had a late flight 8.45 and luckily Sylvia was able to offer a later check out. She came to see us off and check all was well and her generosity came to the fore again with a kind parting gift and souvenir of our stay. Truly one of the nicest places I've ever stayed.

Beautiful private gated retreat location, excellent facilities for a family stay, with a short drive to local towns with all amenities. Well located for reach of western beaches and Chania. Very clean and comfortable. The host and her family are very welcoming and attentive to their guests, cleaning the property halfway through the week and providing fresh products from the site. It was a pleasure to stay here, I hope to again soon.

Nothing really. The only niggle for us was the WC plumbing not accepting toilet paper made things a little difficult with a young family. It would be better to have a toilet bidet hose installed.

Fantastic

Very nice house, it has everything you need. The owners are very friendly, they make sure that you have a great time at their accommodation. The location is also great, close to Chania and beaches, but also to beautiful gorges and the mountains. We hope to come back one day!

Amazing place!

We loved our stay at Casa Avocado! The property itself is just amazing - it is a really cozy stone house very nicely decorated and with a really modern bathroom design. We really enjoyed the jauzzi, barbeque, sauna and you actually have every single appliance and utensil you need. The garden is lovely and even though is close to the main road you feel like being on the middle of nowhere. There are shops/restaurants though very close (5-10 minute drive). However, apart from the property, what makes your stay even more special is the host. She greets you on check in and explain everything you need to know about the house and the area and makes you really feel at home. The welcome package with fresh eggs from their own hens is fenomenal.

Wonderful out of season stay even if we had to drive South to find the sun

There is everything you need for a perfect holiday. The house is super comfortable with great facilities including bbq, pizza oven and lovely outside seating areas. unfortunately the weather wasn’t great for us but it was nice and cosy in the house. we especially liked that the cupboards had everything you needed for cooking so you didn’t have to waste money on these things.

Awesome stay in Crete with excellent hospitality in beautiful surroundings

Casa Avocado is nestled amongst the Avocado trees and has all the facilities you need for an awesome stay in Crete. There's the pool, sauna, jacuzzi, bbq area and even a view point at the top of the hill which is part of the garden. The hospitality of our hosts was outstanding and they provided us with fresh eggs during our stay, snacks for the beach and a fridge full of goodies on our arrival. The surroundings are beautiful and very relaxing being surrounded by fruit and avocado trees. The location is about 5mins from Tavronitis town, where there's a bakery, restaurants and supermarket. A car is essential if you want to explore the best beaches on the west of Crete. Whilst we were there we visited Elafonisi, Balos and Falasarna beaches, all within an hours drive. A big thank you to Silvia, her husband and mum for making our stay very memorable. We would definitely recommend staying at Casa Avocado, you will not be disappointed!

One of the highlights of our holiday in Crete!

HOUSE - Beautiful, well equipped holiday home, including a washing machine for the hardworking traveller. - Amazing outdoor area, with complete barbeque equipments, dining area and a lounge. - The pool is huge, more than enough area for 4 persons. - The hot tub costs extra based on usage time (and it, does take some time to heat the water up), but it is understandable and we felt that the charge is reasonable. -A good location to be based in, as the location is relatively central of most attractions in the western part of Crete. HOST - As others have mentioned, the hosts are very friendly and welcoming, one of the reasons why our trip to Crete was a very wonderful one. - The host waited for our arrival even though it was quite late at night. - Speaks English and explained everything about the house well. - Quick to respond as they live 20 mins away. We had a problem with hot water on our second day, they came immediately. Turns out it was a problem with the whole area and not the property. - They were also helpful, suggesting attractions to visit during our stay. When it was time for us to leave they came to say goodbye with a few gifts. They knew we were heading to Georgioupoli next and even suggested an attraction to visit along the way.

Exceptional

The location is outstanding: immerse in the nature of a local hill full of avocado trees, with swimming pool, hot tube jacuzzi and Sauna. Owners are really friendly: we got fresh eggs from the local farm, yummy avocado, sweet oranges and "nespolas" from the trees of the property. The house has all the facilities for cooking and preparing meals. Interior is designed with old style-renewed forniture really characteristic. We used the sauna and swimming pool(use of the sauna is charged on kw).

A beautifully renovated and kept villa perfect for a relaxing holiday. Argyro and her family were amazing hosts: generous, friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for exploring Western Crete and it is secluded enough for complete privacy without being so isolated as to make it difficult to access shops and activities. We were there for ten days and could have happily stayed for another ten.

Amazing place!

We really enjoyed the fact that the house is in a remote area and it's perfect for a couple that wants some time on there own. The house basically has everything and we enjoyed our 12 nights stay so much. The owners are really nice people, bringing us home backed swets and pastries. We are not driving so the two bicycles provided made everything much easier and helped us keeping fit after all the traditional culinary delights :) Overall great place/great time and we really recommend it!

Most amazing place to relax and enjoy Crete

A wonderful and quiet place to enjoy the beautiful weather of Crete. The owners made a superb welcome with everything clean and ready to be used (towels, BBQ fully equipped, food in the fridge, basket of fruits,...) There is a fish market and meat market few minutes away where you can grab fresh food to enjoy on the outside BBQ,.... 22 hectare of quietness and peaceful. 1 advice for the next customers, make sure to visit before checking in, because you will not want to leave the Casa after that!! The owners even gave us some departure gifts.. Well appreciated.

Ein sehr schönes Haus mit ganz tollen Gastgebern.

Alles war super und sehr nette Gastgeber. Die Betreuung von Anfang bis zum Ende war Spitze mit sogar einem Willkommenspaket im Kühlschrank, frisches Obst und selbstgebackenen Leckereien unter der Woche. War mega!!!! Das Bett ist ebenfalls ein Traum! Wir haben soooo gut geschlafen. Wir haben uns wirklich sehr wohl im Casa Avocado gefühlt mit einer tollen Terrasse und Grill. Auch tolle Lage für die Erkundung von West-Kreta.

Das wirklich Einzige was zu bemängeln ist, ist dass die Nutzung der Sauna (und des Whirlpools) einen erheblichen Aufpreis verlangt. Da es schon herbstlich war, haben wir das Haus auch so gewählt, dass wir die Sauna und den Whirlpool nutzen können und wir haben bei der Reservierung und Buchung des Hauses gewusst, dass es nicht kostenfrei sein würde. Jedoch summieren sich 4€ / KWh ganz schön schnell. Dementsprechend haben wir auch leider nicht den Whirlpool benutzt. Sollte das Haus für die Nutzung der Sauna und / oder des Whirlpools gebucht werden, sollte dies berücksichtigt werden.

Un endroit plein de charme

Nous avons apprécié chez Ariero son accueil plein d'humanité, bien loin d'une boîte à clefs. Dans le frigo des produits de 1ere nécessité et une coupe à fruits sur la table nous attendaient. Nous avons eu des conseils, des explications et des réponses à nos questions avec bienveillance, ainsi qu'un petit cadeau d'au revoir personnalisé. La maison de famille était belle et authentique. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés.

Tout était trés bien, par contre le spa et le sauna sont en option. Ainsi, le tarif de ceux-ci pourrait être spécifié dans le contrat de location.

La crête rurale confortable à deux pas de la crête touristique

Loin des itinéraires touristiques, l’accueil des propriétaires a été au delà de nos attentes. Fruits frais, œufs, gâteau maison, nous n’en attendions pas autant. Maison parfaitement équipée, sans vis à vis, ménage tenu, très fleurie, au milieu d’un champ d’avocats. 20 minutes de chania, 30 minutes de fallasarna, localisation idéal pour visiter cette partie de l’île

Tophuisje voor een verblijf in een erg mooie streek van Kreta.

We werden opgewacht en kregen een perfecte uitleg over de accommodatie, alsook over de mogelijkheden in de buurt om te shoppen, te bezichtigen, enz ... Het huisje zelf heeft alles wat een verblijf in de regio Chania nodig heeft, alle comfort, ondanks gelegen aan een weg erg rustig, een goede vaste BBQ, waar we gretig gebruik van hebben gemaakt, een zwembad en goede ligstoelen.

Niet echt iets dat we kunnen bedenken.
