About this house rental
Near the medieval and charming village of Óbidos, the 1 ha property is spread over a hill and surrounded by an area of lawns and flowerbeds. Next to the road with the old castle framing the landscape it is located in a rural area but within walking distance to Óbidos.
The lovely pool is located down the hill from the house, with a roof tiled barbecue, eating area and washing facilities. Here, by the big 6 x 12 m2 pool, you can enjoy the quiet and peaceful surroundings.
The house is a second home of the owner and, as such, has all the charm of a truly enjoyed and lived in property. Antique furniture and a careful personal decoration add to the country atmosphere of an authentic Portuguese home.
At the heart of the house is a very large living space with french doors to the outside, divided into three different areas (sitting, eating and an office den). It is equipped with cable TV, VHS reader, and stereo with radio, record player and CD player. Next to it is the fully equipped kitchen.
The house has 3 bedrooms: one master bedroom suite with double bed and bath, and two other 2-single-bed bedrooms, with an overall capacity for 6 adults. A child’s bed can be provided upon request. A second large bathroom is located between the two bedrooms.

We had a fun 2 weeks. The location, property and space around the property were perfect for our family of 5.
Obidos is 15/20mins walk up the hill and we enjoyed evening walks for a drink/ice cream and a look around the shops.
We enjoyed the beach, lagoon and restaurants at Foz.
Loads of supermarkets in easy reach which was useful.
We booked the property for the large swimming pool and bbq area down by the pool. The kids had fun in and out of the pool and the shade provided by the covered area was brilliant. However, we were really disappointed that on arrival the pool was not full enough. It was well below the skimmers and it would have been difficult for our youngest child to pull himself out of the water and dangerous to dive in. After filling the pool and asking the pool guy to turn on the skimmers we were much happier. Note the pool isn’t heated so it can feel cold especially for younger kids if they are in the water for a long time. Also there are lots of trees surrounding the pool so expect to spend a bit of time clearing out leaves each morning as the pool guy only comes 2 days.
There are a few updates we would suggest to the property to make it more enjoyable/comfortable for guests. The beds are old and uncomfortable and could do with replacing. Some pool tiles need replacing as our kids cut their feet. Hob/Oven needs replacing. There is only 4 cushions for 5 Sun loungers. We made do and still had a good time but wouldn’t book again without improvements.

Géographiquement bien située, cette maison est idéal pour des vacances au calme dans un environnement magnifique
Nous sommes allés régulièrement a pied (15 à 20mn) dans Obidos qui est une petite ville médiéval absolument superbe!
Nous avons alterné les sorties (Peniche, Nazaré, Lisbonne.....)et les journées tranquilles au bord de la belle piscine
Nous y retournerions avec grand plaisir

Esta casa serviu-nos de base para visitar Óbidos e os arredores. A casa está confortavelmente mobilada e apetrechada, o jardim está muito bem cuidado e a piscina é enorme. Gostamos muito.
