About this cottage rental
Charming renovated old house (ca 225 m2), with large pool, pergola and walled gardens ideal for family getaways. Located in the outskirts of a quiet village with a view over one of the largest European lagoons (Lagoa de Obidos) all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, situated near the medieval town Obidos, about 80 km north (50-60 min) of Lisbon. Garden with orange/lemon trees, vines, avocado, pecan, plum and mulberry trees.
Beds for 8 (four bedrooms), 2 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, one small and one large (90 m2) common area. By closing a door two separate units can be created. Each unit contains 2 bedrooms, one bathroom, one kitchen and a common area, thus making it suitable for two families to share.
Bedlinen, towels, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, micro, all kitchen utensils and WiFI. Separate utility room with washing machine. Cots and chairs for children available.
In the village there is a small minimercado and cafés. A number of golf courses within 5-7 km (eg Praia del Rey, one of Europe´s best courses www.praia-del-rey.com).
For those interested in nature and the environment there are nature trails along the lagoon (nature conservation area) starting just outside the gate, pick mussels or windsurf on the lagoon. The Atlantic coast (appr 8 km) is regarded as one of the world´s best surfing areas.
For the historically/culturally interested:visit eg Obidos, Alcobaca or Batalha or why not a small wine tour to the surrounding vineyards?

Older home with spacious yard. Since it is an older home if you turn on the heater, microwave, coffee pot and toaster it will trip the circuit.

We had a lovely stay in this house. It was perfect for two families. The pool was fantastic and the gardens beautiful.

We had a really great time. The house is wonderful. Very big and it fits 8 people well without getting on each other's nerves. The beds are very comfortable and the pool area is amazing. The garden is also very beautiful and full of fruit trees. We had breakfast in the back of the garden overlooking the lagoon and barbecued and gamed in the front area in the evening.
It was wonderful and we even extended our stay at the end.

This property is a true gem. It's close enough to everything you might want to see and do, still a short trip away from the touristic hotspots. You can live like a villager and stroll up to the local cafe for your daily bread or take the car 10 mins to the medieval village of Obidos with daily shows and and loads of restaurants. We stayed 2 families with 2 kids each and the layout of the house was perfect. There's even a second smaller kitchen in the upper house if you want more privacy. The pool area is great with heated water and relaxing areas both in the shadow (under roof) and in the sun. We usually spent half the day in the pool and the other half by one of the amazing beaches nearby. For sport activities there are running and biking trails all around the lagoon and there's also a wind- and kitesurfing opportunities there. An extra plus for the super cool design eco hotel and restaurant just across the street called Rio do Prado. They serve great food and amazing drinks. We will definately be back!
