Ballycastle, Strand Cottages Modern Home

We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2026. This was a very comfortable small house, three adults in two bedrooms, we didn't use the small kids room with the bunk beds. The house had everything you might need, including a fully furnished kitchen with a (new) washing machine and tumble drier. At the start/end of the day it was nice to sit out in the comfortable chairs in the smallish but pleasant garden. There's a parking space for one car directly outside the house, you could have another car on the roadside. The best thing about the house is the location. 10 minutes walk from the Rathlin Ferry, 5 minutes walk from the beach and the Causeway Rambler bus stop (if you don't want to drive) to explore the North Coast. Ballycastle is a small town so everything like the Ursa Minor bakery + coffee shop is close by. If you want to get supplies out of the Co-Op, you can walk most of the way along a river path. The owners were very helpful and communicative before and during our stay. Overall this was a great find, and we're truly happy we stayed there rather than the slightly cheaper apartment we were thinking of booking.

Beds could have been a little firmer for our taste, but everyone is different. Also wasn't sure how to recycle empty bottles, but other recycling is via the bin at the side of the house.

The host was very helpful and accomadating. The house itself was spotless, warm and comfortable. Great on site parking, easy checkin and out of the property. I would highly reccomend this proberty in a quiet location.
