Alemannenhof - Boutique Hotel am Titisee

Friendly. Location. Food all excellent

The breakfast is so delicious and it has many variations. I just missed some cakes but otherwise it is very good. The large studio has an amazing view from the lake and the forest, we enjoyed it a lot. I find so sweet that they bring in the morning a box with some amenities for a fast breakfast. The employees are friendly and helpful.

The bed was a bite hard for us and the mattress was a bit old with some shape from other guests...

View Breakfast (missed some sweet cakes only) Cleanliness The whole building made of wood is cosy and make us feel very confortable. The building is well mantained.

The shower area looks like a glassbox and does not have a door to close. There is no way to avoid splashing water over the Bathroom floor. A flaw in the design of the shower, but this really did not affect our stay, just used some towels to keep the floor dry.

Having a kitchen saved is a ton of money! We were able to make a quick stop at Schmidt's, my new favorite grocery store, and pick up all the fixings for Black Forest Ham and cheese sandwiches, potatoes, Spätzle and Jägerschnitzel! Sick a heart experience! H The ladies in housekeeping were lovely,as well as everyone else at the hotel. They did my laundry for only $13€ per bag! We had already been traveling over a week, so that was great! And a decent price!!

The large studio we had was on two floors with a half spiral, slippery staircase down to the bedroom. Luckily I had a pair of almost new shoes that I could wear inside.

Nothing everything was perfect

The view and the food.

perfect location, perfect hotel/ apartment, perfect restaurant/ bar...very friendly/ helpful staff. delicious food and drinks. the apartment (402) had a nice lake view, was clean and had everything you need.

This hotel was really good, with excellent food, beautifully presented, although the service dipped a couple of times (see below). Comfortable bedroom with lake view (spectacular sunrise!), exceptionally quiet, it was lovely being wakened by birdsong. Really good hiking around the lake and up the hills behind, felt very safe as a solo female traveller.

when I ask for a black coffee, that just means I don't want milk, it does not mean I might not want sugar... to argue that I only asked for black coffee was rude and unprofessional...if you bring a carafe of wine, at least offer to pour, don't just put it in front of me... I can pour it myself but it would have been more impressive to offer. I don't know where the trend has come to have bathrooms as part of the bedroom and not totally separate. The toilet was separate but the basin and shower were only separated from the bed by a glass wall with a simple curtain... glad I was not with anybody as my time in a bathroom is PRIVATE to me! Also, every time I turned in bed, I was blinded by the light switch of the magnified mirror, which was really unpleasant. A shame as the shower was really good and the room as a whole was excellent... Either change the mirror to a light that turns off completely, including the switch, cover the switch or hang blackout curtains round the shower.

We ordered the breakfast take away s we left at 7am. We told them no banana and they gave us a really small quick bfast bag with banana, a tomato, bottled water which we couldn't open as we didn't have opener and a good sandiwch

Everything was exceptional. Staff 5* food 5* room 5* location 5* not fully occupied which lets you enjoy your peace and quality time in the hotel. Location is great also to the city center. Great walk tour is a must alongside the Titisee lake.

The apartment could be a little bit closer to the main building as we were with a baby and climbing on the hills was not easy with a stroller. But we handled it by car most of the times instead.

At first, we were disappointed that we were given a studio uphill from the beautiful house pictured here, but soon found out that it was a new elegant and spacious room overlooking the lake with our own terrace. To offset the 5 minute downhill walk in the morning for the breakfast at the main house - prompt at 7 am, a pre-breakfast box was delivered! What a lovely gesture! The breakfast at the hotel was included in the price and was magnificent. Every inch of the breakfast and restaurant rooms is a master carpenter‘s delight. In our room was a book explaining the history of the marvellous Black Forest hotel’s 40 year (from gut out) rebuilt Hotel direct on the Titisee. It is a fascinating story and makes the Alemannenhof a unique and wonderful vacation experience.

Very nice and comfortable room. The hotel has a lot of facilities to offer. Perfect stay in the Black Forest area

It was not very clear that the separate building is situated on a hill, which makes going to and from the main building sometimes a bit challenging (in winter :) )

The staff is really friendly

The pool is quite small and the annex building very far from main building not recommended if you are with kids and want to enjoy the pools nearby

The view is incredible, the building looks like a movie location and it is close to the lake, even though you do not have access to it directly. The pool had a maintenance issue, I said during the check in that this would impact my stay and they gave me a voucher that we really enjoyed to compensate. Very nice staff. And the breakfast was very good as well.

I believe the wellness area could be better, but I guess maybe that is not their main focus.

Breakfast was good and room was okay

There was confusion on how to get to the hotel from the nearest train station and what was offered by the hotel in terms of transport. We didn't drive to the hotel, which is about 20 minutes away on foot from the train station, and 5 minutes with bus, but there's only one bus per hour. It says on their website that they offer a free shuttle bus from the train station. Therefore, I messaged them and asked about a possible pick up and they said they could arrange a taxi for us. So I guessed it was not for free and we decided to walk. After we arrived at the hotel, we asked about the pickup and the front desk said they would cover for the cost of a taxi if we had ordered it. The next day at check-out we asked about the shuttle to go back to the train station and the person at the front desk said they don't offer a shuttle but could call a taxi for us. However, they would not cover the taxi fee, which we found very confusing. They offer free shuttles according to their website but in reality we have to walk or pay for our own taxi! At the end, the person at the front desk gave us bus tickets that allowed us to travel within the region for free during our stay but the guy on the first day didn't even mention that, which was frustrating. Another issue was the view from the studio apartment. We booked the large studio for the panorama terrace/balcony to the lake, but the view from the terrace was obstructed because there was another balcony next to us that blocked most of the view. Furthermore, I knew our studio would be located in another building, but it turned out to be 400 meter away and uphill which takes about 7 minutes to walk up.

Stunning location! Breakfast was delicious and lots of variety with eggs made to order. The apartment was spacious. The pre-breakfast snack was a wonderful and thoughtful treat too!

The assigned parking spaces were small. When one of the other guests parked poorly, we had a difficult time parking in our only available space.

Very nice and clean property. Seemed newly or at least recently renovated. Great staff and excellent restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Top notch location.
