Holly House - Quiet Retreat

I just returned from a lovely stay at this property. The location was fantastic, and the home itself felt incredibly welcoming, creating a cosy atmosphere. The way the house was decorated was both calming and inviting, making it a great space to socialise. We also appreciated the helpful guide with recommendations for places to eat and visit in the area, along with thoughtful amenities like fans in every room and GHD straighteners.

However, the house rules were a bit overwhelming, featuring an extensive list of guidelines that made it somewhat difficult to relax. We experienced an unplanned visit from the site manager and received a call from the homeowner to go over the rules again, which contributed to a feeling of being monitored. Additionally, there’s a decibel monitor in the garden, a security camera in the driveway, and a Ring camera at the front door. Overall, we had a great time, but it’s worth noting the stringent rules and monitoring before you book.

In a good location

The problems with the neighbours. Felt like I was on egg shells all weekend. As a family we are considerate, but felt it affected our weekend.

Great location and lots of modern conveniences that made our stay very comfortable, especially comfortable beds.

Only drawback was the cleanliness of the kitchen especially the floor lots of crumbs and dirt from outside. In some of the lounges on the ground floor there were bits of board games down the sofa cushions which looked like they had been there some time and I cleaned the downstairs windows which were covered in hand and other marks. This was the only negative otherwise a fantastic getaway house in a great location.
