Apartmany Panorama 10X-90X

Have stayed there a couple of times before, and has been always happy - and this time too. The apartment is very large, light and spacious, with a large balcony/terrace. The views are fantastic. All facilities were as described, and the room is as pictured - everything worked. There was also a selection of books in the room, which is a nice extra touch. Temperature in the room was optimal - this time I was there when temperatures started to hit "minus" zone, and it matters a lot when it is cold outside and you return to a nice and warm place after the hike in the mountains! This apartment is located in the Hotel Panorama, which is one of the signature hotels for Strbske Pleso and has a very interesting architecture (inverted pyramid). It is quite close to both the bus and the railway station from where you could get to other places in High Tatras. Also there is a supermarket in just 1 min. Hotel restaurant was quite good, and there are also a lot of other good food places in Strbske Pleso to check out - Slovak cuisine is really good overall. The host is great, easy to contact and very friendly. A couple of recommendations for local hikes for warm season: Solisko (you could take cable car to Chata pod Soliskom and then it is 40 min hike up), Bystra Lavka (a bit technical entire day hike overall, but up to Vodopad Skok is easy hike), Popradske Pleso (easy hike) - and from there you could get to a couple of peaks: Rysy (very popular a bit technical hike; there is a trail leading there from Polish side of Tatras as well), Koprovsky Stit (less technical, but still quite steep), and Ostrva (a bit steep, but not technical and not very long). Another peak you could get to from Strbske Pleso is Krivan (also entire day hike, not very technical but quite steep). All trails are clearly marked.

Nothing to complain about - all was good.

Shower had no overhead holder for the shower hose. Room was warm, would suggest it have a fan during hot weather

The hotel has a great location, free parking, and a spacious room with everything we needed.

- Although the listing said the room would be on the ground floor, it was actually on level -2 (basement). There were windows, but the view was mostly of ongoing construction. - Communication with the host was only via text message, which was inconvenient while roaming. - Even though we picked up the keys at the hotel reception, it felt like the room didn’t really belong to the hotel. There was no proper check-in or check-out, and the staff didn’t explain what hotel services we could use. - Payment was only possible in cash (to be left in the room) or by bank transfer, which is both inconvenient and unsafe. The transfer also adds extra fees to the final price.
