The Edgware Cabana

The property is a stunning A frame two storey villa. The scale is impressive. The artwork and wall furnishings are very well done and add to the drama of the property. It is opulent and there has been no expense spared or area minimised. The staff are extremely helpful and the breakfast served in the villa was very nice.

There were a few finishing details that were not great including exposed cords and wires behind the bedroom tv. No small table and chairs particularly for the upper floor balcony. No mattress protector on the bed (but the bed was comfy). The enormous size of the bathroom and the scale of the lounges were too small to make the space feel comfortable and relaxed. There was no place to stretch out and chill.

The cabana is so beautiful on the outside, and the inside is just amazing, the staff were super duper helpful and made our stay 10x better. Food was good. But the room and the smart TV and the BATHROOM😍 was perfect

Because the people were super friendly and the food was mostly super tasty, we are bringing the score up to a 5. Also they gave a small discount because there was quite a bit of water leaking in from the windows/doors. The tv's were very nice.

If you expect to be able to sleep here, perhaps think carefully about booking. We were sceptical of previous reviews, saying that the wind was bad, but we spent two nights with little to no sleep (we did have lots of rain and wind according to them). One of us even ended up trying to sleep on the sofa downstairs. The wind is very loud, and at times, it felt like the building was being shaken. They do offer ear plugs, but these are not really something we want to have to wear while sleeping, and they did very little against the noise. We ordered curry and rice both nights, as the first night was great. The second night we asked for something a little different (as in a different vegetarian curry) but we ended up with pretty much the same except one or the dishes we had for breakfast and another from the night before but just with some kind of slimey cheese sauce. Also, Christmas decoration is not something we're looking for in Sri Lanka in July, but that might just be our taste.
