Stressful start but ok place to sleep for a night

Close to venue where our xmas party was. Was very quiet at night even though busy road. Parking. Comfy bed.

No communication. We turned up on time and still didnt have an entry code. We found a guy to help who was coming out the building and he said we couldn’t have a booking as they didn’t do 1 night. He looked after the apartment. He called owner and we were told our booking was cancelled but Booking.com said all confirmed. We panicked as needed to get ready for a party. We started looking for other options of where to stay. The guy called owner again and eventually they agreed we could stay! It wasn’t cheap! £145 for 1 night.

Terrible. Will not stay there again.

After booking this accommodation more than 2months before the stay, i had immediately messaged the host to request for a room that is accessible via lifts from the car park as we had many heavy luggages. There was no response at all from the host, so I assumed that they will accede to our request. However, when we arrived, we realised that we were given one of the furthest and highest apartment, whereby we had to carry our luggages up 2.5 floors of stairs. As there was no lobby/reception, we called the accommodation's number, but there was no answer. As that was about 1.40pm, which was before the check-in time of 2pm, we waited in the car park. At 2pm, we called the number again, there was an auto reply that their working hours was until 2pm. Besides calling, we had also messaged the host via booking.com's app which did not have any response. In the end, a staff came out to the carpark. He checked and informed us that there was no other available room on a lower floor. I'm appalled by their poor customer service. If I had known that there was no lift and that I had to drag my luggages up 2.5 floors, I definitely would not have booked this accommodation. Additionally. the ceiling lamp in the master bedroom did not have a light bulb. I immediately messaged the host via booking.com again to get them to replace it that afternoon, but again, there was no response or action. Hence, I had to depend on a small bedside lamp on the 1st night of our stay, as the bulb was only installed the next day.

Centrally located and comfortable

The accommodation was very good and comfortable. Clean sheets and towels, comfortable lounge and dining area and good hot water for showers. The kitchen was adequate with some crockery cutlery etc There is a beautiful park across the road

There were no basics like salt and pepper or a scouring pad in the kitchen. But there is a small shop a couple of doors away where you can get everything you need

The location

It was not as advertised i booked a flat with a washing machine it was a small studio with no washing machine no toilet paper only one set of towels for 2 weeks im really disappointed

Great location, but nit much else

The location is fantastic. Easy to find. So many shops, restaurants, pubs and takeaways within walking distance. There's a lovely park (Albert Park) just across the road

The apartment wasn't very clean, it's dusty and kept finding dark hairs everywhere yet my partner and myself are not dark. There is a missing light shade in the hallway, so the light bulb and wires are exposed. The shower door in the ensuite don't open so couldn't use that shower, the shower head holder in the other bathroom is broken meaning you have to hold the shower every time you use it, there's no plug in the bath so you can't have a relaxing bath after a long day of walking. The kitchen and bathrooms are looking very old and tired especially the kitchen, the covers on the cupboards are peeling off. The TV turns itself on, in the end we switched it off at the mains and never used it. The mattress could do with being replaced. It's so noisy, the walls are really thin and during our week here we've had some very loud neighbours!!

Thought I had found an ideal place but haven't

The code for the building and the code for my room worked well The internet worked well, I was able to watch a film on my laptop

The entire place could do with a thorough clean particularly in the toilet/bathroom. I couldn't get any channels on the TV

Good budget location and amenities, close to town, spacious, clean and easy to find

the property was pleasant on the outside and located within walking distance of some local convenience stores. it offered car parking in an area manned by cameras. the suite itself was clean , had ample hot water and heating and had all amenities expected. basic cleaning product available and bin bags but no signage to tell us where to put rubbish. staff met me on arrival and he was helpful to get the heating on and explain how the entry system worked, he was most apologetic about the shortcomings

the location was noisy despite locking windows. loud music was common. the bed was a spring bed and mattress was thin. did my back no favours and I woke up every time I turned there was an awful acrid damp smell which did not abate most marked in the bathroom. at first I put it down to changing seasons but despite opening windows for hours in all rooms i realised it was a smell that needed some deep cleaning of the drains, fan and crevices of the floors and could possibly be a result of laying laminate on a bad carpet. another thing I thought was that the bathroom might have a faulty saniflo but then the extraction fan was occluded with dust and not working. it didn’t run once thankfully I had air freshener and a travel bottle of bleach. area leading up to the room has loose floor tiles that wobble when you walk on it. Same in the bathroom. overall, the entire property could do with some minor works which would take less than a day of diy. need to look at that bathroom fan looked at and get a drain devil in to unclog and flush the entire drain system because what backs up as a smell will eventually back up as sludge

Lovely apartment, perfect for what we needed would use again if we needed to stay in the area

Had everything we needed, recliner sofas were nice and comfy. Plenty of plug sockets including in the bedrooms. Had to call about a leaking radiator and someone was there within 10 mins to look at it.

Furniture was a little bit tatty in places, could do with a proper wardrobe or at least a proper hanging rail in the double room and a small side table each side of the bed (there was one but could do with one each side)

excellent value for money accommodation that just needs a few bits of finishing, could then easily charge more

good location, spacious comfortable apartment. door code system is great as no keys to lose or hand over. very clean and modern. you could easily have 4 people (if a double bed was put in the en-suite room) stay there very comfortably for a week

looks like it has had some updating done recently but isn’t quite finished. kitchen cupboards & work surface are tatty. light fittings in hallway with bulbs exposed. no toilet roll holders in either bathroom. no toilet roll in main bathroom. en-suite toilet seat not attached, no plug in the sink, shower has rust & limescale. only 3 mugs & 2 odd glasses in kitchen although plenty of plates etc. en-suite bedroom hot even with heater turned off and no cooling available.

it’s location was perfect for us. The apartment was very spacious with recliner sofas and most things that you would need. very warm! plenty of hot water and very clean linen and towels.

needs a bit of TLC “shabby rounds the edges” bathrooms smelt because of drains I suspect a bit unpleasant! kettle didn’t work but staying over weekend and no one responded to the message left for the on call contact number.

Dirty , run down and not worth the money.

Location was good to access the town centre.

The apartment was dated, run down and dirty. Exposed wires in bedroom light fitting, rusty shower hose, dirty floor, food crumbs on kitchen worktop from previous occupant, no TV except access to Netflix or YouTube but only if you have an account. Filthy sofa with probably years of dirt between the cushions, no wardrobe or chest of drawers in main bedroom and only hangers on the floor with no hanging rail in the second bedroom. No hairdryer or mirrors in bedrooms, dirty microwave, obvious layers of dust on the shelf below the lounge coffee table, grimy kitchen cabinets which felt they hadn't been cleaned in a long time, cheap bendy cutlery, dirty fridge. Had my stay not have been short I would have left and demanded a refund.
