Great views and swimming in Lake Lucerne - basic accommodation

Location by the lake, wonderful views and we took a swim after check out.

Parking was high above the property and very limited just off the main road. Headroom in the room was an issue for someone 6 foot 2 - bumped head countless times. Shared bathroom along the corridor wasn't ideal.

The breakfast was very good, complete choice of all obvious options. Coffee prepared from a local Swiss company was excellent. Fresh watermelon was available. Yogurts of all imaginable flavors were available. Windows facing the lake with an excellent view. Heating was excellent. Hot water for the showers was in abundant supply. Quiet rooms and easy access to the shared bathrooms and showers.

The room itself was fine, but the door was made of glass, so it was transparent, and light from the corridor came through at night. It was the main issue for me.

A beautiful lakeside location with stunning views, but some challenges with accessibility, small rooms, and limited staf

1- Its location was just perfect, right by the lake 2- The view was stunning . 3- Everything was very clean and peaceful. 4- checkin was quick and easy. 5- The owner was kind and explained things much better than the staff, in my opinion. 7- There are plenty of rooms, tables, and chairs available, as well as cutlery and a refrigerator for guests to use. 8- There is a swimming area in the lake for guests to swim.

1- Make sure to bring your own towels, otherwise renting one costs €5 for a medium-sized towel. 2 -If you're not very athletic, it's going to be difficult. The parking is located at the top of a hill, while the hotel is down below. In our case, we were traveling with our parents and couldn't carry the suitcases down to the room. We asked the staff if they can help with( chariot) to unload the luggage, but they refused and offered no assistance. On our last day, the owner confirmed that the staff could have helped us. 3- If you're not a fan of the old-style decor, bunk beds, and tiny rooms with a window that only opens halfway, or if you don't like small, enclosed spaces (if you're claustrophobic), this place might not be for you 4-During our stay, there was a school trip with kids who started screaming in the middle of the night (around 1:00 AM). 5- I had bought half a liter of milk and 4 eggs from local people, who advised us to cook them well before eating. I went to the reception to ask for a pot, but no one ever mentioned that there was a free gas kitchen available on Mondays. I mistakenly used a portable stove by the window, for which I apologized after the owner explained the seriousness of the situation. He also told me that we could have used the gas kitchen for free on Mondays — something the staff never informed us about or offered. 6-Unfortunately, the reception closes after 8:00 PM. My mother was cold during the night, and I couldn't find anyone to ask for an extra blanket. Luckily, our neighbor had a spare one and kindly gave it to us. 7- At the end of your stay, you have to remove the blankets, sheets, pillows, and mattress covers yourself, and leave the room on time. We didn’t know that check-out was at 10:00 AM (my sister who did reservation which is our fault) — I thought it was at 11:30 AM. So, at 9:55 AM, the staff told us to leave the room within 5 minutes!!!!

Perfect location with very friendly staff

Located directly at the lake (Vierwaldstattersee), our room was only 10 m from the waterfront. The room was very nice and towels were provided. The shared bathroom was nice and clean with a very comfortable shower. The host was super helpful and friendly.

The bed could have been a bit more comfortable, but for one (or two) night(s) not such a problem. It's quite steep to get from the road/parking down to the reception and rooms, it would be good to indicate this clearly for less able people perhaps.

Awesome. Right on the lake. Couldn’t have asked for a better location. I was a bit paranoid about the shared bathroom (my hostel days are behind me) but the communal areas were very clean and there are many of them so I never had to wait for a shower/ toilet. We had a quadruple room and it came with a basin (very handy). Ten out of ten.

Fantastic location by the lake

Great location. Right next to the lake although you need to park at the top and it is quite a walk down a steep hill. We arrived by ebike and could charge the bike in a locked shed near the road. Very friendly place and only one group staying there so it wasn't too noisy. Super breakfast.

We hadnt realised that you have to pre book an evening meal and there is no other choice. Arrived late (7pm) and the food was finished and anyway we hadnt booked a meal. If you want to eat there, remember to do this as it is in a location with no restaurants.

The location and the view of this place is wonderful. I slept in one of the Heidi rooms and I just felt like Heidi myself. Everything you need is there. Its a great place.
