One of the best hotels among many greats

Great view from the balcony of our room! Property has a western view and we were gifted two amazing sunsets over the lake, one from the secret lakeside sauna. Wonderful spa! and a close walk to the train up to the top of Mt Rigi. Nice restaurant for dinner and amazing breakfast included.

Outstanding service! We felt like royalty and very warmely welcomed and excellently serviced during our stay. From breakfast with our 1 year old to room service with baby high chair. Thank you! We will come back!

Overall enjoyable especially the spa

We liked the spa very much. Breakfast was also very good. Staff were very friendly and professional.

Unfortunately there was a rave party organized in the hotel, and we were not told. But the receptionist helped us and upgraded our room.

We stayed for two nights but left after only one night. It was terrible. The hotel is very, very, very old. The smell in all the hotel is so bad that you can’t breathe. Breakfast is a scandal we quickly run out to eat outside. I just don’t understand, if you have such a great location why not invest in your property?

Idyllic place to relax on the Lake

The hotel is located in an idyllic location on Lake Lucerne. The staff were super friendly and efficient and the food was top class. It was the perfect venue for a couple of nights away from it all. The location is perfect and so easy to access via the ferry from Lucerne. There is such easy access to swim in the lake from the hotel, as well as enjoy the wonderful sunsets in the evening.

The location and views. Staff were very helpful. And we Coukdon take our dogs into the restaurant.

We had to pay £50 a day to park our car on the premises. The rooms had no air conditioning and that made it very uncomfortable for us. The terrace was tiny and they put one deck chair on it. It should have had 2 stools as the room was for 2 people. Lots of events on the time which made parking extremely difficult.

An unforgettable romantic luxurious stay in Hotel Vitznauerhof

The hotel staff were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and helpful. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and invited to relax on a sofa in the reception lounge, where one of the receptionists brought us refreshing drinks while we completed our check-in. We've never experienced such a high-end and thoughtful welcome before. Our room was incredibly spacious, with two bathrooms, three balconies, and to my absolute delight—my partner had secretly arranged a romantic surprise! The staff prepared everything beautifully, including two swans made of towels and rose petals artfully scattered across the bed. It was stunning! Swimming in the lake was amazing—the hotel provided floating rings, which made it even more enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of options, and we even spotted a boat arriving from our table by the window! Dinner was equally flavorful and satisfying. All in all, it was the ultimate luxurious experience in Vitznau. Hotel Vitznauerhof truly made our stay unforgettable.

While the hotel’s appearance was elegant, its breakfast buffet was disappointing.

Our room was large, as was the bath.

The breakfast offerings were repetitive. Many things were not labeled. More fresh fruit was needed. Cooked choices could have been better had they not contained so much salt and had they been accurate to what we requested. While the hotel appeared to be exclusive and expensive, its breakfast buffet did not measure up to those standards.

WEEKEND BREAK

Location was excellent for trip up to Mount Rigi and boat across the lake to Lucerne, literally next door. Hotel and outdoor area absolutely stunning, magnificent views of the lake, staff are fantastic, so helpful and friendly. Room was great , huge bathroom and so clean, there is an excellent coffee station on each floor which always had plenty of everything that you need. Excellent breakfast,lots of choice

Beautifully peaceful and charming Lake and Mountain Resort where you can really get away from it all

The hotel is stylish with excellent use of its older architecture; the rooms were spacious yet modern and we were delighted to have a balcony on our side view room which was advertised as 'mountain view' but gave us a partial lake view too. Vitznau town is small but has a good connection to the boats to Lucerne/Weggis and has easy to use buses. Transport is very easy. Vitznau also has a smart station for the Rigi Train which takes you up the mountain. It was exceptionally convenient. I would recommend using the spa at Kaltbad (halfway up). Vitznau is quiet and select and allows a relaxing holidays away from crowds. We ran every day along the lake to either Gersnau or Weggis (each 5kms) so enjoyed the flat as well as hiking in the mountains. The hotel was charming, beautifully looked after with wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. My husband made good use of the excellent (free) paddle boards and enjoyed relaxing rides across the beautiful lake. I really had one of my best holidays ever in this beautiful place where you can be very active or just relax by the lake.

The choice of restaurants in Vitznau is limited but we enjoyed Rutli and Nostalgie near the Park as more affordable options. The food was delicious in both. You won't get a bottle of wine for less than 60 CHF so come prepared!

The room we had was lake facing and had amazing views. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and accommodated our needs for secure parking.

The room would have benefited from having air conditioning as it was quite warm.

Beautiful old hotel with amazing views of the mountains and the lake.

There was a wedding on the premises when we were there. I was trying to enjoy the outdoor hot pool and when entering the women's locker room I noticed it was an atrocious mess, strewn about were clothes, bags and miscellaneous items, like I was stepping into someones bedroom. Not a comfortable atmosphere. And there was a crazy loud drumming session while I was trying to relax in a massage. The staff should have booked the massage other than the time of the drumming.

breathtaking lake view from the room. walking distance to the Rigi Bahn station. delicious complimentary breakfast. Good for a one night stay if you plan to visit the Rigi Kulm and not want to rush back to Lucerne in one single day. it’s in walking distance to the Rigi Bahn station, and away from the tourist. Vitznau is cozy and quiet town. The rooftop restaurant across the street is pretty good, they follow fusion food using the local ingredients.

very beautiful location, the windows offer a crazy view of the lake, the interior of the hotel consists of expensive materials, very pleasant smells of soap, shampoo, shower gel, lotion, rubber slippers are issued that will not turn into garbage after one use. very kind staff. The drain in the bathroom is not clogged as is often the case in hotels. good prices for parking and bar. Thank you for this level of service

it is necessary to draw some kind of instructions for the coffee machine in the corridor. since I had to use three capsules before I figured out how to turn it on correctly. Also, not everyone will figure out how to call the reception if necessary. It would be nice to make prices more affordable so you can visit more often.
