Lovely freshly made jam on toast! A wide selection of spreads and bread and cereal. Freshly made percolated coffee from 7.30. Range of newspapers. It had lovely artwork on the walls, very peaceful. Lovely sunny room.

The desk and chair provided were not compatible. Couldn't get under the desk while on the chair. 1 comfortable tub chair or similar would have been nice.

The coziness

Stairs can be a challenge when you have 50kgs of bags to carry, but you could use the front entrance as a workaround instead of the car park

Great location! On top of that, this really nice and cozy house is comfortable and great for a day in Hobart. John is super nice and friendly and really makes you feel home.

Depending on your room, the barhroom may be too far away if you tend to avoid the stairs (there are too many, our room was located in the lower floor and the bathroom was 2 floors above, so we had to climb 2 floors to go to the bathroom).

It was conveniently located near my destination for the next day. The kitchen facilities were okay, though the continental breakfast options were a bit limited. I wasn’t sure whether breakfast was included because I’d paid extra or if it was available to all guests, and clearer information would have helped. The same goes for knowing what food in the fridge was accessible for guests. The cookies and fruit were fresh and appetising, with instant tea and coffee. Brewed coffee available in the early mornings, only. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean, which I appreciated. Overall, I’ve realised B&Bs might not be the best fit for me—I prefer the space and anonymity of a larger hotel.

The single room itself was quite narrow with more furniture than needed, so felt crowded and a bit claustrophobic for me. Being right on the corner of two busy roads, the car noise was noticeable. There was no airflow, and I couldn’t see a designated outdoor area, which I did look for, hoping there was an accessible garden to or balcony. A large room fan provided appreciated. While the heritage building held some charm, the inside spaces are laden with dark furniture, and lots of it. It is a fair walk from shops and restaurants, so stay here if it suits your budget, but don't expect to be in the main buzz of town.
