Beach Accesses for ALL Prominence homes are via South Walton public beach access points. Most Prominence guests utilize Deer Lake State Park beach access or other nearby public beach accesses. Prominence homes do not have direct beach access via Watersound Club nor do they have access to Watersound private club facilities.
PET FRIENDLY
An additional non-refundable pet fee is collected after booking. Any damage caused by pets will incur a minimum fee of $350.
INITIAL SUPPLIES - UPON ARRIVAL
Panhandle Getaways furnishes a few essential items for guests to utilize until they can get to the grocery store. Initial Supplies include: Dishwasher soap, small washing machine powder, each bathroom has amenities (like hotel but NOT restocked) shampoo, conditioner, soap bar. One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom & one paper towel roll in the kitchen. All bed linens and towels are provided. We encourage guests to bring beach towels for use at the pool and beach.
E-Checks are accepted for advance reservations at no additional charge (15 days prior to check in). All credit card payments will incur a 3.5% convenience fee.

Overall, the rental property was nice and met our needs. However, it was a bit disappointing for a few reasons which I feel are vey basic requirements given the money we spent. First, the description of the property claimed it was a “5 minute walk” to the beach. This is not the case. The closest beach access is Deer Creek park which has limited parking and a 5 minute drive. If you don’t get there early than you need to wait until someone leaves. We spoke with several other renters in the same neighborhood who were also misled on the distance to the beach and had the same complaint. This needs to be corrected.Again, the house was nice but be advised, it is for sale. I mention this because I feel like the owners aren’t willing to replenish the essential items you’d find in most every rental or spend money on necessary repairs. For example, we had two hangars in the master closet and not a single wine glass in the entire house. No a huge deal but you’d expect to have these items in this type of rental. Regarding the cleanliness/maintenance of the house, there were issues there as well. When you arrive, the very first door you have to go through is a screen door to the side porch (more on the actual entry into the house later). The screen itself was ripped out on both of the upper and lower frames of the door and left to just flap in the breeze. Even the spline which holds the screen in place was hanging down from the frame. I have to say, not the best first impression. Onc

Overall, the house and location were exactly what we wanted. We loved having access to the golf cart and bikes as well. There was plenty of room for my family and the house was clean.
There were some inconveniences during our stay like not having a coffee pot and one of the shades in the bunk room wouldn’t stay down. Also we kept having to reset the breaker in the garage to get the door down.
Communication with Panhandle Getaway was good while we were in the house but since we’ve checked out I’ve had an issue of getting a hold of them. We left a sweater at the home and I’ve called at least 6 times at this point to try to have them mail it to me. Every time I call someone answers and says I need to speak with the head of cleaning and I never get a call back.
I’d appreciate a call back ASAP as it’s been 3 weeks.
