Explore the spit to the Mediterranean with its beautiful nature reserve on foot or by canoe. You might spot flamingos at the San Pedro del Pinatar salt pans. For longer excursions, the harbour city of Cartagena or the provincial capital of Murcia with its old town and ancient cathedral are well worth a visit.
