While in a great location, it felt like trendy decor was prioritized over more meaningful renovations. The restaurant and bar were beautiful, but flies frequented the "clean" glassware. While we loved Galway, this hotel wasn't the most comfortable stay.

Lovely hotel in good location for walking to sights. Clean,comfy bed, Nespresso coffee machine in room. Deluxe double room was large and had A/C which we didn’t need. (saw a regular double and it looked very small). Nice toiletries. Shower was a combo with bath tub and a deep step in. Large screen TV with what seemed to be satellite TV. Folks in reception very nice and helpful. Very close to train station. Nice hotel.

A hotel with character that is both close enough to Galway's city center without being too close that it keeps you awake at night. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating! Would stay at the Hyde again!

Location of this place was ideal! It was close to parking, and walkabale to all the cool locations in Galway. There is a bus that stops right outside the door and there are so many bars and places to eat close by. My only complaint was service at breakfast. It was slow but otherwise fantastic stay!

This hotel is conveniently located to all the best places. The bathrooms/shower is weird with no door to the shower and no fan. Other than that, this places is excellent. The bar has a really cool vibe.

Loved the hotel. Its location was perfect. We were in easy walking distance to the train station and a departure point for our tour to the cliffs. Our room was very nice, however, be aware that the third floor is under renovation. Our initial room was not up to my standards and it did not have air conditioning. The manager changed our room immediately and all was great after that. The bar and restaurant are very pretty, clean and upscale. The breakfasts were exceptional for an included breakfast. The servers allowed us to customize our meal with the menu choices so that was wonderful.

The Hyde is conveniently located to everything in Galway, including the train station. The hotel has a great restaurant, which we enjoyed for dinner. We did not opt to upgradeto include breakfast. There was no air conditioning, however, and our room was very stuffy and loud with the window open. Our room did not have a fridge, nor a working coffee maker. Compared to our two Dublin hotels, the Hyde was pricier, with fewer amenities.

It’s a shame because it is a very pretty hotel with a beautiful restaurant and bar and cafe attached, but I would never stay there again. We came back to our room late afternoon and the beds were not made, only a couple bath towels replaced but left no hand towels or washcloths. There is no bath mat towel. The coffee packets were not replaced. I went to the lobby to complain and just so happened to hear the receptionist on the phone with another guest who was saying their room hadn’t been serviced. I told her we don’t care about the beds but would like more coffee and some hand towels. She wrote down my room number and said it would be taken care of. We came back about 10 o’clock that evening and it still had not been done. I went to the lobby again and waited while the receptionist left the front desk and ran off to get the towels. The front desk staff are very pleasant and friendly, but there is apparently a cleaning staff shortage. It sounds minor but it’s the little things that determine whether someone comes back again when there are so many other choices of hotels to stay.

Excellent hotel located very close to the train and bus stations as well as the centre of town. Staff was very helpful. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. We had dinner one night in the hotel restaurant and the food was excellent. Considering how busy it was, many locals feel the same way.
