    We stayed at The Roosevelt to celebrate our friend's 30th birthday in New Orleans. The hotel was very nice and the staff were all very hospitable. Overall we had a great weekend, my only slight was with the bell hop carts. They won't let you use them on your own, so be prepared to make sure you have a tip for the bell hop if you have enough luggage to need to use this service.

    Perfectly located a few blocks outside of the excitement, noise, and fun on Bourbon Street, this is a grand old hotel that is clean, quite, and provides outstanding service. It is close to all attractions whether driving or walking.

    This is a five star hotel with 1 star service. It's a gorgeous, grand hotel and our suite could not have been more spacious or nicer. However, service was AWFUL. Each time I tried calling for small items--like a missing "privacy" sign and missing slippers--there was no answer, or only an answer on the third try after 20 rings. And, it took at least 45-60 minutes each time to get what I needed, except when it didn't come at all. I finally had to go downstairs to get a manager. Fortunately, he gave me his cell number so I could call him the NEXT time the front desk/personal assistant didn't answer. Other small annoyances were things like stacks of dirty towels all around the pool area, with no pool attendant visible. This is branded as a Waldorf Astoria hotel and is an embarrassment to the brand.
