My husband and I needed to get away from the city for some days so we drove from Geneva to the Grand Hotel Billia. The drive is absolutely gorgeous and it was very nice to reach the hotel with such great/attentive service. Our room overlooked the mountain and although it was cold and rainy it all made up for a very cozy environment.
There are a number of ski slopes around, reachable by car or gondola (just make sure you have snow tires/chains) which make for a perfect day trip. The spa is great, a lot bigger than we expected. There are several inside/outside pools, hammams, sauna, etc and we even splurged with a nice relaxing massage.
The restaurant is also very nice - we ended up eating there both nights just so we would have a chance to try different things in the menu. Excellent food and a good selection of wines to pair it with.
Highly recommended if you're looking to spend a weekend away with your partner, or perhaps a nice family vacation. It must also be very beautiful in the summer!
