    We booked a “Deluxe Queen Room sea view”, and felt more like a glorified cupboard: tiny, smelly and desperately in need of an update. Don’t be fooled by the sea-view rooms. From some windows, you can barely see a glimpse of the sea. And if you’re hoping for a good night’s sleep, think again. Either the air conditioning sounds like it’s about to give up on life, or the traffic keeps you awake all night. Often, you get both! The bathroom is another masterpiece of poor design: tiny, low ceiling and a fixed shower head. Breakfast was a complete disappointment. How anyone manages to drink the brown water they call coffee is beyond me. Want milk? Your options are a couple of tiny, unappetising portions of creamer or nothing at all. Between 7 am and 8 am, there aren’t enough tables, so people end up eating on stools or at computer desks. A lovely start to the day! On Wednesday morning, someone took our room keys while we were having breakfast. We went to reception to ask whether they had been handed in. The receptionist asked for our passports, which were obviously in our room. He then asked for our names, dates of birth and who had made the booking. It felt as though he was deliberately making a simple situation unnecessarily difficult. When I questioned what difference the booking details would make, he told me to calm down and relax. A rather patronising attitude towards guests who were simply trying to resolve a problem. Finally, be prepared to pay hotel fees even if you don’t use the amenities. The beach umbrellas are so cheap and broken that the slightest breeze makes them unusable. Excellent value for money! Overall, a classic case of a hotel that sounds much better on paper than it is in reality.

    This hotel has amazing staff.. very friendly and super helpful! It is located 3 block from the beach and there are plenty of food options close to the hotel. The breakfast is awesome as well! I get so tired of the reviews saying... the place is dated or needs an update". If that is your main concern you should stay home! After a great day of excursions of the beach, this was an amazing place to lay our head at night!!!

    This is a really nice hotel and great value for the money. Especially loved the free breakfast, coffee, and beach equipment. The location is very close to all the major areas and transportation. Staff was super amazing. So friendly and helpful. Rooms are slightly smaller than other places I stayed and I do agree that the AC noise may affect your sleep. I figured out how to get the sound at the right level so it didn't bother me once I did that. Would stay again for sure!

    You cannot beat Vive for the value of breakfast, location and use of beachgear! All the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Would definately recommend.
