Worst and most humiliating experience I've ever had at a hotel, or any retail business for that matter. This was the third and final hotel I booked on Agoda for my birthday trip. It had been over a year since I'd had a real vacation and work and life had been extra stressful, so I was looking forward to this trip with much relief. Stayed at my other two hotels with zero issues. I was switching from one to the other when I checked in here and went to a late breakfast after packing everything up, then went down to Byward Market to kill time. I got to the hotel at 2pm, and when I went to reception was very tired and just hoping to get in the room. I told the girl at the desk, glasses and dirty blonde hair, did not see her nametag, that I knew I was a bit early and would wait if necessary. She said she would check and after looking on the computer said she could go ahead because my room was ready (and I am sure because it is the weekend and the parking lot isn't even full). She said I needed to give a CC, standard for a $50 deposit, after I told her I already paid online. After a moment, another girl, *** showed up. The other girl was talking to her in French. I do not speak French and told her so. So they were arguing in French and looking at the screen, leaving me to wonder what was going on. The two young girls, and I will say again that for the most part that generation (I am GenX) has zero clue what customer service even means...and these two definitely proved me right. The new girl, *** was the worst of the two. The first girl said she needed me to put my CC in the machine again, no explanation. I figured she must have failed to take the $50 deposit. I saw *** come up on the machine, the cost of my total stay. Luckily there wasn't enough room and it declined. I asked her what she was doing. She tried to take the whole amount for my stay AGAIN without even telling me that was what she was doing. They both proceeded to argue with me and tell me they didn't have the 'virtual credit card' from Agoda for the payment of my stay. I had no idea what they were talking about. *** was rude and aggressive and I can honestly say in my 57 years I have NEVER had a hotel employee treat me the way she did. They told me I needed to call Agoda, even though I'd shown them both the booking and the separate receipt Agoda sent. Never had an issue with an Agoda booking before and have used them for years. There was no phone # on my booking or the Agoda site. I didn't have my glasses and I'm trying to see on my little phone screen, I'm trying to call hubby no less than 20 times on both work and personal phone and of course, he doesn't pick up. *** angrily told me I would have to pay the whole stay AGAIN for them to let me in my room. I said no. I have six more nights in Ottawa and told her I need what $ I have for my trip...not all of us are flipping rich. This whole time they were speaking back and forth in French knowing I couldn't understand. And both spoke perfect English. They finally made me wait an hour until the supervisor came and blonde girl had to add arrogantly, "That's the time you're supposed to check in anyway." Yeah, okay after already saying my room was ready, let's lie on top of being rude. I honestly thought I had no other choice and got ready to drive the 8 hours back home and just skip all the stuff I had planned for my birthday the next week. I couldn't help it. After being treated like a thief and talked down to, I just sat in the lobby crying. Supervisor finally showed up and after 10 minutes of all of them plus a 4th person standing around the computer arguing in French, she said it was all good and gave me the key saying they would sort it out with Agoda. I told her that's what should've happened in the 1st place. I called Agoda and wasted another 50 minutes of my time on hold and then found out that when I paid for the hotel almost 3 weeks ago, Agoda sent them a virtual CC and that's how hotels get the $. Agoda sent it a

Do NOT stay here. This is the worst experience I ever had with a hotel. In fact, if I had realized this was a Hilton hotel, I wouldn't have booked it because of their involvement with ICE and tRump. When I booked, it was a ***. Hotel is outdated. They were renovating when we stayed here.

Room was clean and spacious. Property, however was very unconventional. Parking lot is not overly convenient to check-in or side entrance to the building. Restaurant was closed for both days of our stay. Biggest annoyance is that they blast music in the hotel hallways from 6am-midnight which is inconsiderate for people paying to SLEEP there. Very annoying
