He went out of his way to make sure that we looked at multiple rooms and found the one that would suit our needs the best. Most hotels just tell you what room you’re in and send you on up, Jose went the extra mile to make sure we viewed our room and were completely satisfied before taking any payment from us. Jose accommodated us with minor needs throughout our stay. He also went above and beyond and made our chaotic checkout process extremely easy! Thank you, Jose!!
About the actual room:
The room was set up in a very cozy manner. The hotel is dated, but of course we didn’t expect anything with bells and whistles at the price advertised.
Later on, we had gotten everything unpacked and gotten comfortable when we saw a roach on the kitchen counter. We were alarmed, but thought maybe it was just a stray… As the night went on, we saw about five total. I immediately alerted the front desk and they came out with a professional and sprayed the following morning.
We continued to see roaches after that, so at that point we had to simply accept that they had an infestation and end our stay.
The people in the building seem to have lived there for a long time and are friendly and speak when passing by.
If it weren’t for the roaches, we would’ve stayed for the entire 2 weeks, as planned…

This place was a nightmare, would not recommend to anyone. All I can say if you like roaches, then this is your place. We had to leave and go book somewhere else. Never again.

Out Dated Outlets... Carpets had Stains. Burnmarks on bathroom floor where someone smoked in it. Paint chipped on walls. Furniture dirty and old and worn. Door Hard to open. Rubber strip bottom was torn. No Swimming pool. It was closed due to cracked foundation and drain area.

Walking up to the door all you could smell was Mary Jane, and yes I understand it’s legal there but should the worker be doing it while on the clock? And when got inside to the front desk, though she had visible hickies all over her neck she was sweet. Goto the room and smelled dirty there was some blue sticky stains on the floor and my son was to have surgery the morning pulled the sofa mattress out and the second you opened it the smell hit you, and it was either blood soaked into it or poop, there was no sheet on it so it was visible and I immediately left. When I called the front desk and I told her about the mattress was “ewwww house keeping should have caught that but thanks for calling and letting me know they need to fix that” that was it nothing else like let me get you a different room not that I would have taken it, but just the offer to try and make the situation better,, not just ewwwww, or just I’m so SORRY. So one sweet personality doesn’t make up for all that

The place was infested with roaches, you seen them even in the daylight. Front desk staff was unfriendly and talked about everyone. The cops were there nightly and there were people sleeping in the hallways, with needles and needle caps laying all inbthe hall way on my floor. Nasty place all around.

We paid for 7 days and left after 2 fully accepting not to get a refund, that's how bad it was. Don't go here to recover from any surgery ...ever. while I tried to nap with my pitty (esa registered) the front desk continued to send weird staff members to enter my unit. I told them I was sick, in treatment. Had a surgical procedure and hubby booked the room for a week to keep the kids and babies outta my face so I can recover. Skinny older dude that checks ya in kept my id, after I asked for it. Ran a background cc heck on me a couple hrs past closing time. Then he said I'll be up to your room with. A key..I was soooo tired. I said excuse me sir you better not

Katie greeted me by name when I arrived, and got all the basics - door keys, etc. quickly, and explained they are proximity - so just a tap is needed. The building is really well built, with a fitness room and laundry available 24/7. Met interesting 'neighbors' in the same building. The room is one of the best, and nicely decorated. And I got a great night of sleep - so necessary for travelling!

My first impression when I checked into my hotel was good. The building outside looked clean. Parking lot had a lot of damaged asphalt. But when I got into my room. The flooor had dark and white stains on it. At 7 pm is when the cockroaches started to come out. I killed about 15-20 after I decided to get help from front desk because it was getting out of control. At 8pm… I had about 35-40 new cockroaches on my kitchen walls and cabinets. I rant out of the room swinging a towel trying to keep them away. They just kept on coming out from somewhere. They said “well, we are a large establishment and we spend millions on getting rid of cockroaches. This is not unusual.” I was shocked. I left. I couldn’t stay. The cockroaches started to move after sunset. It was bad.

The hallway had not been vacuumed in over a year, the room in front of us was boarded up from the police from a year ago. They did not provide any supplies for the kitchen. And the property has roaches.
The lady at the front desk was extremely friendly but we will never be back due to the health and hygiene concerns.

Property was not as described. There was a huge hole in the drywall. When I asked about the extended stay amenities for the kitchen such as basic kitchen wear I was told I needed to bring my own pots/pan and utensils. Did not feel safe there and left after checking in.

Decent beds, nice kitchen, but ants infested the place, and 7 roaches were killed the first week of staying. They kicked us out randomly in the middle of a week paid for, refusing to refund any money. Told us they had trouble keeping people there... yeah, no wonder.

Upon arrival at this property, it was very apparent it was not what was pictured. The pool area was dirty and unkept and the pool was closed. There were people in the lot smoking weed and drinking. When I went room, it appeared "clean" but clearly smelled of smoke and the sheet were not clean, and I noticed roaches immediately. I called the office the next morning and was told I would be put on the Orkin list, and they would set "traps", but to my knowledge no one ever came, and I made multiple complaints. They attempted to charge me an extra $85 for an "undercharge" that I booked and paid for through Expedia not directly through them and was told to pay or get out immediately at 7pm at night! Refusing to pay due to their mistake with Expedia and their price mess up I left that evening and was forced to book another room on the "fly"! Do NOT stay here they are a terrible company and stay buyer beware!

The property was unsafe. I killed five coaches. Tryed call the front desk but no answer. Both tvs doesnt work. Waited 2 hours for them to get a tv making me late for a concert. Homeless people with theirs dogs all over the property. One.was in the elevator. Hallway smelled like pee cigarettes and dog. Overall this hotel get a flat F. The health department need to come.and investigate!!!! And carpet is nasty.

What ever you do, do not stay here. I booked this hotel so my family and I can go to Kings Island. When we started bringing in our stuff, the first thing that happened was the smell, it was horrible and smelled like smoke. The front desk associate said the room was just renovated and that made us super happy. Oh boy, was that wrong. Once we arrived in the room, there were no curtains and a cat toy found by the refrigerator. My kids and I were about to go to bed and started brushing our teeth and we found roaches by the toilet. We immediately packed up our stuff and headed to the car. I stopped into the office and let them know the situation and the front desk associate gave me the managers number to call in the morning. I called the hotel and they said I would have to call hotels.com to work through this. I called hotels.com and they put me on hold to call the hotel and the manager said no way, they will not refund me my money even though I was only in the room for five minutes. I called the hotel back and she said I would have to go through hotels,com again. I asked for the owners/company's phone number or email and she said she would be the only one to talk to, she cannot give out any other information. She was absolutely so rude and disrespectful. I usually do not write reviews, but this one was so bad.... if you like roaches and terrible smelly rooms, this is the place for you.

The halfways & elevator smelled HORRIBLE! Smelled like cigarettes all throughout the hotel. I've stayed at "extended stays " before & they had cook wear, utensils, plates, glasses. This place offered nothing! All you got was a couple sets of towels, toilet paper & little hands soap. This place needs a huge renovation there was so much dust on the light fixtures in the bathroom & on the little cage that covered the smoke detector it was disgusting. Pictures on the site definitely don't match up to the real. I definitely should have done better research into the reviews. 0 out of 10 would definitely not recommend!

Unfortunately my recent stay at Birch Hill in Blue Ash Cincinnati Ohio fell far short of my expectations. The experience was marred by numerous issues that ultimately made for an uncomfortable and frustrating stay. It was evident that thorough cleaning and maintenance were lacking which greatly detracted from the overall comfort of the room. I cannot recommend this hotel to fellow travelers and will be seeking accommodations elsewhere for future trips. This hotel should not be offered through Expedia.

I booked a deluxe suite, paid for it, then when I got there they said there weren't any available, and put me in a room that was in terrible condition. There was no trash can when I got in, a bathroom light was burnt out, and the carpet was so frayed at the bottom of the door that it was a trip hazard. Most inconveniently though the bolt to the door would barely retract so that you could shut it. It took numerous times to get it to stick. When I complained the said they'd fix it tomorrow, and then when I complained the next day when I couldn't get the bolt on the door to retract at all they said I was being too loud about it and gave ,e 1/2 hour to collect my things and go. They essentially stole a week's worth of rent from me because I complained about the poor living conditions. Mainstay Suites in Cincinnati is the much better alternative everyone.

Had a very short lived experience at this particular property. Pulling into the parking lot, you’ll notice shutters on the windows that are falling off. The pool at the front of the property is drained and the patio around it is being used for storage. There was a group of people sitting on the table in front of the entrance smoking cigarettes. We got our room key and started down the hall to the room itself. There was plastic Halloween decorations, hanging up outside of one of the guest room doors, signal, and somebody has been staying at that extended stay for a very long time. When we open the door to our bedroom, there was threadbare carpet, torn curtains, stained drapes, stained couch. The bed frame looked like it belonged on a Murphy bed. When I pulled back the sheets to check for bedbugs, there was what looked like pubic hair in the “clean” sheets. The only way to describe the bathroom was very nasty. The TV appeared to have white residue sprayed on it as well as on the headboard. The whole property smelled of very strong cigarette smoke. Upon leaving the property we noticed that the exterior door had all locking mechanisms removed, allowing anyone to walk in from the outside. We immediately put our belongings back in our car and contacted Expedia. We were very disappointed that the Expedia agent was not very helpful and getting any kind of refund, instead suggested we go fight with the manager ourselves. This property was not what we thought we getting.

This property is very dirty and poorly managed. When we first showed up no one was there to check us in that knew how so we were told to come back later.. after we checked in later we discovered the place was DISGUSTING. Broken outside door, gross stained carpet, smelled like drugs and cigarettes in the building, looked like someone tried to pry open the room door, room had no sheets, no curtain. Building needs a lot of work!!

It was filfthy and misrepresented. It may have a stove, sink, refrigerator, but no cups plates pans etc. No coffe maker. No ice machine. They gave us a bed and an extremely lumpy twin size rollout for 4 of us grown adults. Cat had scratched up loveseat sized sofa and drapes. Our allergies from said cat flared up. Carpet was black. It was the worst hotel I've stayed in. Do NOTsave this. Expedia should reconsider including this property.

The location is in a quiet area which is nice. The staff upfront Carol she was great an provide things to do around the area. The hotel though was not so great Pool is out of service, hall way an rooms smell disgusting. We literally had dirty towels hanging as our clean ones an looked like someone used it. They don’t do housekeeping which really isn’t a big deal to me but if you want clean towels you have to bring your dirty ones to the front desk. There’s also people that are staying here longer an you will see a lot of people out in the parking at night. And the day we were checking out it was 10:50am an someone from maintenance was already knocking at our door. Overall I wouldn’t recommend or would stay here again.

I called ahead of time to make sure that if I got there later that I would still have my reservation but of course we were traveling from pretty far away, the lady on the phone assured me that it was fine. We got there at 9:50 the lobby was already closed and the lady was standing at the door, she already knew who I was and told me she didn’t have my number to call me and told me they gave my room away and she couldn’t help me… so at 10;00 me and my family had to go on a search to find a new hotel around the same price range… the really sad part is they still tried to charge me 100 dollars for this hotel.

I booked a double room at this location for 6 days. When I arrived, I was given a single room. The young lady that met me (she was very nice) explained that the pictures and the description on the listing are not this hotel! She said they did not have any rooms with 2 beds available at the time. I asked for extra sheets for the pull out sofa. When I went back to the room, I found that the pull out sofa was stained and had actual dirt on it so I couldn't sleep on it. Additionally, the room was not clean, the floor was not swept, there was no chair for the desk, and no bed skirt just the bare box spring. I tried to work with Hotels.com until 2 AM to get another hotel reservation to no avail. The next morning I asked the front desk clerk for a refund. She tried to argue that I got the room I selected through Hotels.com although I had confirmation that I did in fact select a double room. I requested a refund for the remainder of my stay. After some discussion and reluctance, she contacted her regional manager to get approval for the refund. Consumers - I would only recommend staying here as an absolute last option. Hotels.com/Birch Hill - Show the appropriate pictures of the rooms or stop listing it on the website.
