I had to ask the front desk why, and that’s when the angry young lady snapped that I would need to pay separately if I wanted a cookware kit, a dinnerware kit, and discovered the next morning that also includes a shower kit with basic toiletries. None of this was explained during check-in, and I couldn’t find it clearly disclosed in Agoda’s booking information. I only learned about these additional charges because I discovered the empty cabinets and had to ask. Guests should also know that the free Wi-Fi can become slow with multiple devices, with paid upgrades offered for faster speeds. In addition, every local and long-distance call made from the in-room phone is subject to a $1 surcharge, even if the call isn’t completed. My concern isn’t that hotels offer optional services—it’s that guests deserve to know about these potential costs before they book or check in, not after they’ve already paid for their room and discovered them on their own Another thing guests should be aware of is that the front desk isn’t staffed 24/7. It closes promptly at 10:00 p.m. every night, reopens at 9:00 a.m. on weekdays and 10:00 a.m. on weekends. I found this out the hard way when I stepped outside briefly in the early morning and my room key stopped working. Since the front desk was closed, I had to call the hotel’s after-hours number, which connected me to someone at a completely different location who didn’t even know which hotel I was staying at. They then had to contact the front desk employee, who was upstairs off duty, to come let me back into my room. If your room key stops working after the front desk closes, be prepared for delays and possible attitude from the employee who was probably sleeping This is something guests should know before booking, especially if they expect on-site assistance to be available at all hours. One of the most concerning parts of my short stay was the lack of security I felt overnight. Someone repeatedly walked by my room and jiggled my door handle. I can’t identify who it was, so I’m not making any accusations, but it happened often enough to keep me awake throughout the night. Whether it was a guest or someone else, it left me feeling anything but safe. I didn’t write this review because I expected luxury—I wrote it because I expected honesty and integrity and safety . Travelers deserve to know what they’re paying for before they arrive, not after they’re standing at the front desk or discovering empty cabinets in their room. Between the undisclosed add-on fees, limited front desk hours, after-hours support that isn’t even on-site, unexpected surcharges, and an unsettling night where someone repeatedly tried my door handle, this stay left me disappointed and questioning the value of what I paid for. My hope is that this review helps future guests make an informed decision and encourages the hotel to be more transparent about what they advertise, what they provide, and what comes with an additional cost (Pictures just won’t load).
