Hotel de La Ville is a useful place to stay when visiting Vicenza with a car. The rooms are everything you would expect and the breakfast buffet was good, including a good selection of fruit. It took us 15 minutes to walk to the city gate of Vicenza.

Breakfast was lovely, however the room was in need of some tlc! Bathroom door got stuck when opened, cracks in paintwork, noisy air-conditioning, sink was slow to empty. The twin beds were uncomfortable. The staff were all friendly and welcoming.

This was a very nice hotel at one time but the area immediately surrounding the hotel is very sketchy. The hotel staff warned us not to go one direction at all. Breakfast included and pretty good.

Unfortunately I forgot 200 eur cash in my hotel room. Even though i called them the day after and provided hard evidence on where i put it, and that its impossible to not have been found, they denied it completely and never offered much of help. I understand and pointed out to them that I fully understand this happens a lot in the hotel world, and probably that some guests lie about similar too, but when I explain to them how and why, and its 100% guaranteed i know where i put it, they still deny. Very sad because other than this they were very pleasant, good hotel and good staff. I simply believe one of the colleagues simply lied about finding it and the rest of the staff believed this person. I also understand its word against word, but what else than telling this can I possibly do? Its a fact. But its a part of life!

A cheap option within walking distance of Verona train station. It’s an old but functional hotel and our room was clean. The area outside isn’t very nice for walking (a few homeless people hanging around) but the hotel has a car park so driving is an option. Also if you are coming from a big city you’ll be used to this - it’s just not the image I had in my head of Verona (opera & posh restaurants serving truffles and good wine was more my expectation)

This hotel is conveniently located across the street from a bus stop. The bus will take you to the city center, the mall, the train station, bus station or the nearby US military base. It also walkable to downtown if you feel like it. There are some restaurants within walking distance it the hotel has nice one. The breakfast buffet is very nice. The rooms are of a decent size and the staff is kind and helpful.

A four-star dreaming of being a two-star. I am sure that, maybe in its heyday, Hotel de la Ville was a prime business. Clearly, those days are long gone. The rooms, the corridors, the building in general is clearly dating, but management resorts to one of the oldest tricks in the trade: keep a decent lobby, just to save face. Quite large (50, 80 even 160 people) one-night groups from countries not known for their high sanitation standards travelling on low-low-cost tours along with very, very blue-collar guests, some of them carrying huge dogs, seem to be its market niche. Imagine. In all fairness, Hotel de la Ville delivers the quality corresponding exactly to the price it charges, thus meaning: cheap is cheap and a four-stars, in reality, is a two-stars. I should not complain either about a €3 breakfast even if it includes staled cornetti, runny scrambled eggs, expired milk, badly kept yoghurt, awful coffee and ¾ foam, rather cold capuccinos or a $80 room with bad housekeeping. To add insult to injury, Hotel de la Ville is located in a tough neighborhood where strange, suspicious characters from a shelter next door continuously hover around the property, especially at night.

Run down four star hotel. Very friendly staff is the only real positive. The rooms are big but outdated, malfunctioning airconditioning keeps temperatures very high, impossible to shower without flooding the bathroom floor. Breakfast just ok but basic. Many three star hotels are way better so do not understand the 4 star rating.

The hotel is about 3/4 mile from the center of Vicenza and easy to get to. The underground parking is a bonus, even if some of the spots can be quite tight getting in and out of. The rooms are fine, just pretty dated. Definitely in need of some paint. The A/C and Internet were definite pluses, as both worked fine. The room size was pretty large, the breakfast looked good too. The biggest negative was that the locati on didn’t feel as it was the safest, through no fault of the hotel. If you are traveling for business for a day, it’s fine. Longer than that, I would probably be more comfortable staying somewhere else.

The staff were great and helped with every wish we had. I appreciate after nearly two years of Covid that hotels don't have a lot of money, but the suite we had needed considerable maintenance and should not really have been used. The fitting-out of the room was also lacking (no TV in TV cabinet in lounge, only one lightbulb on one wall in lounge was too dark). Public areas were in a lot better condition.

The shower needed some updating. The shower drain cover was not attached correctly and it slid off causing someone to slip. The doorknob was different from all of the other doorknobs in the hallway. It didn’t fit correctly. As a result, without being extremely careful closing, fingers got caught. The knob was on room 205. The walls were very thin and the wood floors were very noisy, so you heard everything in the room next door.
