West End Washington DC, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

The price through Agoda for 2 nights at this great Foggy Bottom location was exceptional. We had a suite, and breakfast was included! Here's exactly what's "missing," and then you can decide if it's right for you: 1. No hotel bar or restaurant, so missing that sociability/liveliness aspect found in many hotels. 2. The rooms are bare-bones, with no extras like magazines, tourist guides, hotel info, etc. Coffee bar was stocked with minimum 1 cup each of coffee, decaf and tea pp, and no extra toilet paper on hand. No views at all - you're just looking at other buildings. 3. The restaurant next door was used for breakfast, which was a great idea, but it's essentially basement level - no natural light. Best to get your food and take it to your room. Pros: Shower was great. The guy at the front desk loves his job, and it shows. Just a few minutes to walk to the metro.

Nice hotel. Location is fine. Near to Foggy Bottom or Dupont Circle if coming from Union Station. Rooms big and nice. AC's placed wrongly and way beyond beds and it takes considerable time for the room to get cold in summers. Flip point is the breakfast- they don't provide buffet breakfast. Only provide 35 USD credits per room which is minimal for a breakfast. Agoda need to change the description on it's app so that customer won't feel cheated. One of the staff was very rude and arrogant who was adamant on 35 credits Hilton Policy. If you are not a Hilton member they may charge you for even WiFi.

Hilton pays less than 13.9 cents for a water The room was spacious and clean. Hilton has changed a lot and not for the better. No greetings upon arrival and check in. When in the room we had no coffee cups although there was a coffee station. Went down to request cups, no apologies. After I realized that there was no toilet paper and I immediately called down and requested toilet paper, no apologies. Had a suite with two TV’s but the remote control was not working, I mentioned to house keeping but it was not fixed. What is with the water, unless you are a minimum a silver guest you only get two bottles of water at check in, we stayed 3 nights, they wanted us to pay $10 for water. It costs Hilton (I am sure they have a contract price) of around $3+ per 24 bottles per case around 14 cents a bottle, 28 cents for 2 bottles. You would think I was asking for free champagne, Beluga caviar. The staff we unfriendly and adamant that it was against policy to give 28 cents worth of water. No apologies, just young smug untrained employees. When I asked if I could have 2 liquid creamer cups that were on the counter same reaction. There was a nice employee we met the last night Lydia, she smiled, was friendly and listened to our small not important concerns. She apologized profusely and gladly gave us waters. It saddens me be cause these little simple interactions could have been avoided at a very little expense to the hotel operator $0.56 for 4 bottles of water. Silly decision making and no training. What a shame

West End hotel is a bit far from train station but its manageable. Hotel is very clean and our room has mirco-wave and fridge. We feel safe when we walk from train station to the hotel. This hotel can be reached by train from Ronal Regan and Dulles airport. There are supermarket and restaurants near the train station so you can always get something before going back to hotel. We will stay here again next time.
