Driftwood, Southwold

We love visiting Southwold and go every year. For overnight visits, Driftwood will now be our go-to. We had a fabulous time in this flat! It was incredibly comfortable even in the hot weather (amazing tower fans!), and included some lovely freebie snacks and drinks. For anyone worried about noise from the downstairs flat, there is a no-parties policy and we were delighted to find that the bedrooms were up a further level from the rest of the flat, so even a barking dog downstairs wouldn't disturb your sleep in these comfy beds! Additionally, the place was so immaculately clean that we were inspired to do a deep clean of our own flat when we got home! Perfect location just moments from the beach and the lighthouse, with free on-street parking available too. Our stay couldn't have been better!

Not a problem for us, but other reviews have talked about the steepness of the stairs. We did find this to be the case, so it might not be the most suitable for those with limited mobility. The bathroom is downstairs from the bedrooms, so you will need to go up and down the stairs if you use the bathroom a lot at night.

Didn’t realise access to garden via fire escape stairs so dog unable to go outside alone, Unable to use garden due to dog from lower apartment always being outside.

We loved Driftwood. Excellent location for beach and town. Gorgeous period property with quality and quirky interior. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, a really lovely home from home. Highly recommend.

It wasn’t an issue for us but the apartment has 2 steep staircases which could be a problem if you have mobility issues.
