Bamboo Bungalow - Thong Nai Pan Yai

The bungalow is simple but very clean and more than big enough for a solo traveler. The location is excellent – just one minute to the beach. The water pressure and the Wi-Fi were both excellent, and the manager/owner was always reachable and very helpful. There are shops, restaurants, and a 7-Eleven nearby, so you don’t even need a motorbike. For the price, the value is really great.

There is no refrigerator in the room and no air conditioning, only a fan. For me this was absolutely fine, but some guests might prefer having AC.

The staff is super friendly, honest, they care about you and that you have a good and pleasant time, they treat you like on of them, not just like a tourist.

You each get a bungalow to yourself which is lovely. A gorgeous beach is literally 50m away which is incredible! The owners are lovely and helpful. The bungalows have mosquito nets across the windows to keep out bugs. The bed is large and the bungalow are more spacious than expected.

We stayed for 6 nights which in hindsight was probably too long, as I found I was getting eaten alive by mosquitos (the windows have nets but the bathroom has a hole in the roof which let loads in). There is no housekeeping so our bathroom bin became pretty unsanitary (there was no lid). There is no water provided (but a 7/11 very close by). The area around the bungalow is great for a relaxing beach break, and there are enough restaurants around but you need to go further out if you want more activities/bars/restaurants etc which requires a bike as the island is very hilly. We found we couldn’t really go into the bar or play pool as the table was occupied every evening, which was a shame really.
