The local of The Retreat was ideal for exploring Hastings, Rye and surrounding areas. The area is peaceful and it was lovey sitting on the decking listening and watching aspects of nature. The sheep in the field was a real bonus for the youngest family member (2.9 yrs) The house itself is very comfortable, exceptionally clean and there are many additions we didn't expect, such as child crockery/cutlery, a well stocked book shelf and a very well equipped kitchen. Phil was friendly and helpful, the bottle of wine and flowers a very thoughtful gesture. The Retreat is certainly worthy of more stays for us. Thank you.

The apartment is ideally located in a quiet village and has a veranda with a country aspect overlooking fields and sheep ideal for breakfast, dining or lazy days.
I didn't struggle myself but the drive is steep and might be a problem for a manual car driver with confidence issues.
