This home puts you in the ski village of Megève, 100 metres from the central church square. This means cafés, bars and restaurants serving hearty Alpine fare are right on your doorstep. The Chamois Lift up to the ski slopes is a short and easy walk away, so this place is perfect for a winter sports break. The home itself is an old farmhouse, lovingly restored and retaining its old stone walls and wooden beams inside. The kitchen is everything you expect from a provincial farmhouse kitchen, with a wooden dining table complete with carved love-heart chairs. Archways give way to a cosy seating area set around an old fireplace. Then there’s the pine-clad main lounge, open and airy with sheepskin blankets draped across numerous sofas for the group to spread out. The bar area in here can provide the perfect aprés-ski next to the roaring fire. Kids and teenagers will love the den, tucked away in the loft space above the main lounge. If you want to get in shape before the slopes, there’s gym equipment and a private sauna for a post-ski wind-down session. Outside, a huge terrace shows off the mountain view with the pretty church bell tower against the Alps. Out here you’ll find plenty of wood for the fires inside.
