Lost in Daydreams

Very few words have the power to evoke a wistful sigh upon hearing them, but Tuscany is one of them and it's dreamy villas such as this that are a sizeable reason. Hidden away among dense vegetation and olive trees, it's an address that's intrinsically peaceful and it's not hard to imagine carefree summer afternoons splashing about in the swimming pool, cooking up a storm on the barbecue and pizza oven, and dining alfresco on the terrace. When you eventually head inside, you won't be disappointed by the rustic interior. Alongside the wooden ceiling beams and exposed stonework, there's a fireplace that you can gather everybody around if the weather ever takes a turn, as well as a couple of dining tables with views of the Italian countryside. When you want to see a little more of the local area, the hilltop town of Cortona is only ten minutes' drive away and has plenty of historic attractions to explore. The banks of Lake Trasimeno are only a twenty-five-minute drive away, too.
