About this apartment rental
This lovely penthouse 2 bedroom apartment, sleeping up to 4, has internal finishes of the highest quality, on the edge of the village of Calvario. It has a sunny and private 90 sq metre roof terrace overlooking open countryside, with panoramic views of the Monchique Mountains, River Arade and the town of Portimao. Within 4 km of the apartment there are many beautiful sandy beaches, golf courses, a choice of marinas (for boat trips and water sports), Slide & Splash waterpark, the picturesque fishing village of Ferragudo, and bustling Portimao town, catering for all holiday needs. Historical Silves with Moorish Castle is only 10 km away. Drive inland 30 minutes to the Monchique mountain range for breathtaking views of Western Algarve.
Enjoy rooftop barbecues with family, relax with a glass of wine savouring the spectacular sunsets, or follow the flight of a stork to its chimney nest nearby! With so much to do on your doorstep, you can be as active or as lazy as you wish...

For winter: air-conditioning units are also heaters, and there is a functional wood-burning fire to keep you cosy during the chilly winter evenings.

Portimao caters for all needs; tourist information office, banks, pharmacy, wide range of shops and boutiques, bars/restaurants, nightlife, cultural events, new marina; hospital and emergency department 10 min. drive over Arade bridge (N125).
Tennis courts and beach resort Carvoeiro 15 min. drive. Lagos 22 km; Monchique 20 km; West Coast 30 km.
Good bird watching from roof terrace over river/estuary and suspension bridge, and at Alvor - river and estuary. Storks nests on chimneys throughout Portimao/Ferragudo area, visible from the roof terrace

Loved staying at this apartment in Estombar! It’s close to everything, and there’s free parking right outside the property. Lucy and Suzanne were very helpful and gave recommendations on where to go and where to eat. I recommend this place !

Apartment is exactly as shown and described in details. Facilities were excellent. We enjoyed breakfast and lunch on balcony which was shaded and bbq each evening on the roof terrace. The private roof terrace is very large and excellent for sunbathing and has an electric awning when shade is needed (which it was on many occasions). All the pot plants made it very attractive. There are also plenty of other pot plants on the two terraces and in the hall which we watered. The terrace also has beautiful views. We often saw the storks flying over and you can see their nest on the roundabout from the roof terrace. In fact we saw many stork nests in the area especially on our trip to Monchique in the mountains. We were at the apartment (June 16-July 4) and found many places to visit and lovely sandy beaches. It was very hot one day the shade temperature reached 44C. Supermarkets (a choice of many) are a short drive away. The small supermarket a short walk away is quite well stocked. Judy and Lucy were a pleasure to deal with and Suzanne who met us at the property was also a pleasure to meet and was very friendly and helpful. A very enjoyable holiday.

This was our second stay at this spacious and comfortable apartment. The beds are excellent and the kitchen has pretty much every utensil that one could imagine. The daylight in the living/dining area is wonderful, and heating is good in winter months as well. The property manager is readily available and very helpful. The kitchen appliances all functioned well but are a bit careworn. Parking is readily available, and having a car is essential in our opinion. However, the advantage of being a little off the tourist track is a calm and quiet apartment and neighbourhood.
