About this house rental
The Casa das Laranjeiras, completely renovated in 2013, is quietly yet centrally located in the upper area of the beautiful fishing village of Ferragudo. Right on one of the most picturesque streets in Ferragudos. The fishing village is known for its narrow streets, winding stairs and for its originality. In the village there are a number of recommended Portuguese and international restaurants and several small village shops where you can buy everything for everyday life. The lively market square with its many cafes invites you to linger. Everything can be easily reached within 5 minutes on foot. Larger supermarkets and shops for strolling can be reached in Portimao and Lagoa within a 5-10 minute drive. The nearest beach, Praia Grande, which is very suitable for small children, is only a 7-minute walk away. There are also many beautiful beaches in the Felsalgarve that can be reached on foot or after a short drive. Ferragudo is also a good starting point for hikes in the nearby Monchique Mountains, the summit of which extends to 900m.
The house impresses with its 90m² private enclosed patio with outdoor shower and old trees consisting of oranges, mandarins, figs and an almond tree. Real wood garden furniture and a brick grill invite you to cozy evenings outdoors.
On the large sun roof terrace with a roof lounge and loungers, sunbathing is also possible in winter because the sun shines from sunrise to sunset. The south-facing house is flooded with sunshine and comfortably furnished. It consists of 2 bedrooms, living / dining room with additional sofa bed, a spacious bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. The neighboring house Casinha fewo No. 2743394 with an additional bedroom and a beautiful roof terrace can be booked.

My daughter and I loved this place—we were delighted by the charming decor, including a cosy breakfast nook, small sectional couch, and authentic Portuguese blue-and-white tiles. This charming two-bedroom apartment (one with a double bed, the other with a bunk bed) had everything we could need and beyond—a Nescafé coffee maker, electric juice maker, electric tea kettle, full range of kitchen equipment and supplies, teas and spices, and a shelf-full of an assortment of delicious Portuguese liqueurs! Communication with our German hosts was excellent and when the electricity went out a neighbor immediately came over to help us turn it back on. The outdoor space is amazing and would have been absolutely delightful if the weather had cooperated. What we hadn’t anticipated (through absolutely no fault of our hosts, of course!) was the cold, windy, often rainy weather, plus an unusually extreme storm, we experienced the last week of March, and the fact that the pool would be too cold to swim in. (I was further disheartened to have to pay an unexpected extra 5 euro per day for heat.)If we were to return to the Algarve in the future, I was advised that September might be a better time (not high season, but still warm enough to swim). Despite the weather, we absolutely adored our charming, comfy little home away from home, found Ferragudo to be quite pretty and quiet, and enjoyed a wonderful week’s stay there together!

A well equipped traditional Portugese house with the added bonus of a pool and lively outside space. Closeness to the centre if the village was a real bonus and the house overall more than lived up to the reviews. We valued the excellent communication with the owner Anja and Jaime who looked after the pool was great. Would not hesitate to return to this property.
