Clanalpine Retreat Leura

Loved the layout of the property and fireplace. Fantastic size for a family and very private being a larger sized block with the house set back and surrounded by beautiful large pine trees.

If travelling with young children, I wasn’t a fan of the bedrooms being so far apart (in sets of 2 on each side of the house). Also the shower in the ensuite was so strong that we had to turn it down to avoid the water flooding the bathroom and into the carpet. The slope of the shower floor wasn’t 100% toward the drain hence the flooding. Also the portacot was horrible. The mattress was barely a mattress, it was so think and rock hard that I had to cover it with a quilt to soften it a little. Would definitely bring my own portacot next time. The property didn’t get much sunlight, especially the kitchen due to the property being surrounded by larger trees which whilst nice for privacy, isn’t so great for natural lighting. We had the lights on most of the time. The central heating was a little frustrating as it would change the temperature setting each night on its own and would fluctuate from 10 degrees to 30 degrees. It would never stay at the same temp I would set at 20 degrees.

The location was ideal and the house was comfy. The area was quiet and easy walk to Laura.

Ideally a second TV over the gas fire would be a nice touch. Some of the fit out including kitchen drawers and ensuite lacked finish.

Location was great. we loved the large deck area. Beautiful!

Take personal insect repellant to keep the mozzies away!
