Express by M Village Điện Biên Phủ (The Tropic), a brand of Modern Village Lifestyle

My apartment is under renovation, so I decided to do a “staycation” for 3 weeks. Staying at M village was a great decision. The whole house situates in a quiet alley, with very tropical-feel design. Room is very clean and quiet. Staffs are very attentive and friendly. Overall, highly recommended!!!!

We stayed here as my partner had already had a good experience and it is located in a part of HCMC that was convenient for our personal needs/visiting family. If you are travelling to explore HCMC as a tourist, it is farther away from the center, so you would need to consider the extra time needed to travel to tourist locations. The property is located away from the main street, so it is relatively quiet. It can be challenging for cars to enter and get turned around, so something to keep in mind if you're planning on getting picked up/dropped off by Grab cars. There are some convenience stores and cafes nearby, which is nice, but not much variety of activities to do if you are unfamiliar with the city. Our room (suite) was spacious and the staff was mindful to attend to cleaning and replacing towels/bedding regularly. There are washers and dryers on site, but at times can be busy and dependent on other guests or staff using them, which can take lots of time. The swimming pool is nice, but it is quite small. A couple issues during our stay: 1) It can be quite hot in the rooms. The doors and windows do not properly seal shut, which seems inefficient to maintain cool temperatures. We did have our AC unit leak a couple of times, which was inconvenient, but staff acted quickly to solve the issues and provide prompt repair and solutions in the meantime. 2) There were a couple of power outages for a couple of hours. 3) When it rained heavily, a large puddle of water developed and flooded the entire driveway/entrance and it was nearly impossible to leave the hotel (unless you were driving out or willing to walk through the dirty water and get your feet and ankles soaked). It took a couple days for the issue to be resolved and have the water drained properly. We would stay here again because it is a good location for our needs. However, if you are just visiting the city for the first time, this would perhaps not be the right location for you.

I stayed one night at Express by M Village Điện Biên Phủ (The Tropic) and found it tucked away in a small alley. My Grab didn’t drop me off at the entrance, so I had to drag my luggage. The room was modern, clean and well-equipped, with an induction stove and a small pantry area. Unfortunately, a heavy downpour caused the driveway to flood, making it tricky to step out — the slippers provided were a lifesaver. Without a lift, hauling luggage upstairs was a bit of a hassle. The weak soundproofing sometimes affected comfort, especially when guests closed doors, but the friendly staff and the central location near cafés and shops were always highlights. Overall, it’s a stylish and comfortable spot for a short stay, but drainage, accessibility, and soundproofing could use improvement.

Location is ok. Room is big. Double check the room before checking out. If u left stuff in the room, don't expect to get back
