Casa Vacanze Il Gatto Rosso a 5 minuti dagli Scavi di Pompei

Struttura accogliente dotata di tutti i comfort, camere grandi con bagno privato e giardino. Posizione ottima per chi come noi voleva visitare Napoli, Pompei e costiera. Giuseppe sempre cordiale e disponibile anche per consigli. Consigliatissimo!

The apartment is an absolute gem - beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated, well equipped and spacious. The hosts were very communicative, and Giuseppe was very kind to us and made sure we had everything we needed, and provided great tips about the area. The accommodation close to the railway station (but get directions, it's not well marked) and close to all the main archaeological areas.

There is no way to block the light in the bedroom closest to the street - there are two lights outside (one within the property and one streetlight) that were on all night and the curtains were too thin to stop the light coming in. Fortunately this didn't bother me but if someone is sensitive to light at night this might be a problem. Unfortunately the area is quite terrible - the roads and footpaths are in awful condition, most businesses seem to be closed and most of the buildings are falling apart. Many businesses didn't open when they said they were going go (even the local supermarket - where I asked on one day what time they would be open the next day, then I went several times when they said they would be open and they were not). It's a shame because the accommodation is exceptional and belongs in a much nicer part of town.

The host Giuseppe is very welcoming person. He let us to check-in a little bit earlier, showed us the property and even shared with us some restaurant recommendations. The house is perfect for those who wants to visit Napoli, Amalfi and Pompei as it's located between all of those places. It's a little bit far from the beach, so I recommend to use the car. As for the facility, It had everything we need, even the dishwasher and washing machine!

Overall there were 2 points I would like to highlight: - Ants. we had plenty of them in our shower. i suppose they are coming from the pipes, so it's hard to get rid of them - Noise. the walls are thin, so it can be challenging to sleep when someone is sitting in the kitchen.
