"Altensiel" Vacation Farm — A Dream Vacation Near Dornumersiel!
Our "Altensiel" vacation farm, featuring three vacation homes, one vacation apartment, and a wide range of recreational activities, is located just one kilometer from the center of the North Sea resort town of Dornumersiel. The North Sea, home to the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park”—a “UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site” since 2009—is just 1.5 km from the vacation farm.
Here, idyllically situated on the “Altensieler Tief,” we offer you a vacation filled with sun and wind, with beach and swimming activities in a dust-free, salty, and iodine-rich sea breeze.
The vacation homes and the vacation apartment at our “Altensiel” vacation farm near Dornumersiel are comfortably furnished and very well equipped. Ranging in size from approximately 120 to 75 square meters, they are ideal for a North Sea vacation for 2 to 4 people, 2 to 4 people plus an additional toddler, 2 to 6 people plus an additional toddler, or 2 to 8 people plus an additional toddler.
There’s plenty of space on our farm for the whole family. Your children will have plenty of space in the garden and in the barn, where they can play and run around to their heart’s content, skateboard, ride bikes, and play soccer and volleyball—even all by themselves, since the farm is separated from all traffic by our beautiful wooden bridge. The bridge crosses the “Altensieler Tief,” where the children can also swim or ride in their inflatable boat in the summer. For the very little ones, we have a sandbox, swings, and hammocks. And let’s not forget our beloved Labrador, Mira.
Adults can unwind, relax, and enjoy nature. Our spacious gardens with beautiful old trees offer plenty of room to relax, unwind, and soak up the sun. Or you can go fishing in the “Altensieler Tief,” which flows right through the farm grounds—you don’t even need a fishing license.
A bike path runs right past the farm, allowing our guests to explore East Frisian nature or easily reach the North Sea resort of Dornumersiel on foot or by bike.
In Dornumersiel, a gorgeous sandy beach with colorful beach chairs invites you to sunbathe, swim, surf, and build sandcastles. If you have a dog, you can visit the dog beach in Neßmersiel, our neighboring seaside resort, just about a ten-minute drive from us. That way, your dog can also enjoy the North Sea, the beach, and East Frisia. Right next to it, there’s also a fun agility park and an off-leash area for your four-legged friends.
The tides shape our landscape along the dike here on the North Sea in East Frisia. The best way to get to know and experience the Wadden Sea is on a mudflat hike. Walking across the seabed to an island is one of the unique experiences of a North Sea vacation in Dornumersiel. The most beautiful mudflat hikes to the islands of Baltrum or Norderney start from Neßmersiel.
When the sun is shining and low tide puts a damper on afternoon swimming, you can take a dip in the large, solar-heated seawater outdoor pool in Dornumersiel. Dornumersiel features a mini-golf and adventure golf course, a tennis court, and a skate park. On the Mahlbusen, the idyllic reservoir in Dornumersiel, you can go boating or take a leisurely stroll through Seepark West, the modern lakeside park, along the Mahlbusen.
The Reethaus am Meer houses the Dornumersiel Tourist Information Office, the kids’ club with great events for children, a fitness and wellness program for adults, and much more.
