Villa Planina - First floor Apartment has 2 bedrooms (one twin, one double), double sofabed in the living room, and can accommodate up to 6 guests.

Villa Planina is offering spacious self catering accommodation for groups of 2-20 in four apartments in an alpine chalet with wonderful uninterrupted views of the Julian Alps. Villa Planina is located in a quiet spot on the edge of the charming authentic alpine village of Ratece just a few kilometres out of Slovenia’s most famous mountain resort Kranjska Gora and within walking distance of several excellent local restaurants and amenities with fantastic walking and mountain biking right from the doorstep of the villa and a wide range of Winter sports in very easy reach, including skiing at Kranjska Gora Ski Resort (5 minutes drive) and Tarvisio Monte Lussari (15 minutes drive). The four apartments each offer extremely spacious, comfortable and well equipped accommodation, each with large balcony with fantastic views and a communal games room in the basement. Each apartment offers large balcony / terrace with beautiful mountain views, dishwasher, washing machine, flatscreen TV, cable TV, internet, underfloor heating. Communal garden & games room with pool table and ping pong table. Renting the whole house is a wonderful option for larger groups of families and friends.

I stayed here with my family for 2 nights in late June, 2011. The apartment seemed to be brand new and was spotless. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The veranda was large with a great view! The apartment was walking distance to several restaurants and the neighbours / caretakers next door were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was that, being so new, the kitchen was very sparsely supplied and did not even have a coffee maker! We managed to make do however. The area was great, and we enjoyed mountain biking and hiking in the area. We hope to return again one day.

We stayed in the two-bedroom first floor apartment which we found very roomy and clean with all the facilities we could wish for. The apartment had a nice long balcony with excellent views in all directions. The village is quite rural and probably has as many tractors as cars. Having said that, there was a choice of at least four restaurants plus a pub. We went early in July when some of the restaurants closed for holidays. They must have arranged it between themselves though as there was always somewhere open for when we gave the self-catering aspect a miss for the evening !! There was also a small supermarket at the other end of the village (about 10 minutes walk) which was fine for the essentials. The walking was very good in this area with several walks being possible from the apartment without having to drive. The cycle track to Kranjska Gora (and Italy in the other direction) was also just a short distance away. We had a really good time and wouldn't hesitate in recommending the apartment and the area.

We love Villa Planina!

We really enjoyed our stay in Villa Planina. Our appartment was spacious and well equipped and with glorious views to the mountains. The beds were very comfortable and there was lashings of hot water, so we could sink into a well needed bath at the end of a day on the slopes. We would love to return to this well planned and well looked after accommodation.

Fantastic house, great location

We stayed in Villa PLanina for a long weekend with friends, and we actually rented the whole house. The Villa is great, well equipped, clean and extremely comfortable. The game room with pool table and table tennis proved to be a genuine hit with all of us as an "after-ski" entertainment. Overall, this has been a brilliant experience and I wish we stayed much longer but already plan on going back again ! I highly recommend it : Ratece is a very short drive to Kranjska Gora and a quiet village with amazing views on the mountains. This is great to enjoy everything about Kranjska Gora (skiing, restaurants, bars, shoppping, etc...) without enduring the pain of the crowd, noise and traffic of the resort.

This place is great! The apartment is in really good condition (recently finished?), very clean and lovely and warm on arrival. Fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, table tennis - everything you need for a great time away. We only stayed two nights, but we would have loved to stay longer! Great for winter holidays - main ski field Kranjska Gora 10 minute drive down the road. Loads of cross country skiing to be had right out the front door. Incredibly close to the border of Italy (700mtrs), and a short drive up to Austria, meaning you can drive through 3 countries in under an hour! Just off the main road in a lovely little village, we'd love to go back to see what the place looks like when its not covered in snow. Would recommend to everyone wanting to do their own thing.

Insgesamt ein sehr guter Eindruck, super Lage um verschiedene Aktivitäten von hier zu starten, ländlicher Raum sehr naturbelassen. Sauberkeit ließ im Sanitär- und Wohnbereich etwas zu wünschen übrig. Zwei Messer und Gabeln für ein 6-Personen-Haus zu wenig (ansonsten ausreichend Geschirr vorhanden).
