After the initial disappointment of the room we had food there more attention could have been made t
We liked the hotel the decor was impressive
Our room was described as luxury in fact it was tiny with areas of damp the window was very dirty. It was a great disappointment. After seeing some of the photos of the hotel.

Lovely
It was lovely and clean with lovely white sheets and pillows. They also let us check out at 11am at no extra charge. Location was central. Lovely view of the water.

Fantastic pub stay in the heart of Snowdonia.
Great location, very nice staff, comfy room and bed, food beyond yummy. Everything you expect and more from a country pub. I totally recommend the Pont y Pair Inn!

This accommodation ruined our vacation
There were teas and some shower toiletries provided- not every accommodation provides these nowadays so that's a plus point.
Frontline staff were relatively responsive (ie excluding the managers)- they gave us a heater when we asked for heating to offset the damp in the room and the cold.
1. Noise & Communication:
No prior warning about noisy events (live music, karaoke, loud pub atmosphere).
Staff gave inconsistent information about noise levels and timings.
Noise until midnight, making it impossible to rest in the evenings and sleep before 00:30.
No soundproofing in rooms.
2. Staff & Room Management:
Staff said rooms couldn’t be changed as fully booked.
Generally speaking no effort to manage noise or accommodate guests differently.
Lack of manager engagement throughout stay.
3. Value for Money (ÂŁ554 for 4 nights - taken in advance (!)):
No reception, no proper cleaning service, no clear WiFi info.
Breakfast limited to one hour (8:30–9:30), not sure how guests are expected to wake up at that hour given the late night noise
4. Food:
Overpriced, poor quality, small portions. Better options elsewhere (royal oak hotel , down the road, for example)
5. Room Quality & Safety Issues (see images):
Damp causing breathing issues. mould on windows and shower.
Radiators didn’t work despite being told they were on a timer. Needed a small heater to offset damp and cold.
Dirty floors, cobwebs and mould on windows and windowsills respectively.
Bathroom radiator detached from the wall (it seems not to have been screwed on properly), fell down and injured my wife; no follow-up from management. Serious safety risk- what if the radiator fell on a small child?
Good review - free wine, I wonder how many reviews are genuine? (see image attached)
6. Overall Experience
Stay ruined by noise, dirt, and poor service.
Pub customers prioritised- staff service focusses on them. Their entertainment matters more than comfort of guests paying for accommodation.
We checked out early after two nights as this place just ruined our vacation. It was like staying in a badly run hostel.
Apparently the accommodation was renovated in 2022 (ÂŁ500k renovation) - where did this money go? (https://www.northwaleschronicle.co.uk/news/20150956.

Poor breakfast
Nice friendly staff and decent room.
Breakfast was awful and the hotel not set up for serving breakfast as the chef got there same time as us.
If the facility does not bother with breakfast normally it would be better to say. But to pay over ÂŁ10 each for breakfast which was poor quality products and poorly cooked.
Im not someone who actually takes time to complain as I am a manager of a shop so understand customer feedback and the implications.
The next morning I bought a bacon and sausage bap from spar for ÂŁ3.40 no comparison on quality or price.

Lovely character hotel in a great location
Charming hotel, beautifully decorated and with great ambiance.
Perfectly situated in the centre of Betws-y-Coed, within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and stunning walks alongside the river. A fantastic location to base yourself. It was the bank holiday weekend so there was live music on each night.
Unfortunately on our first evening a poor dog was barking and whining for several hours in the room next to us until its owners got back from their dinner. We were unlucky and it is no doubt a very rare occurrence.

Beautiful location , great stay
Staff were brilliant. I forgot some medication and had to order it to the hotel. They looked out for it and made sure the manager knew it was arriving
The windows didn’t open properly , the last guest had propped them open with some old biscuits

Way below expectations for that price and staff not nice at all
The place has its charm and a building is really lively. Close to the center so easy to walk places.
The personel was not engaged at all. The most important thing was to say if we want breakfast, then we have to pay for that. No information about check out, no WiFi code has been given no information at all. Everything happened over the bar counter. We specifically asked for a quiet room and we got one over the bar, facing the main road where there is both vars, lorries and buses going 24/7. Room was stinky, things were broken (shelf in the shower, curtains) small crack possible to open in the window. Not with the price and staff not helpful at all

Ponty pair
Location was great once we got the lay of bus routes ,food was realy good, staff were brilliant and very helpful
Room very small for the price ,very warm to because of very small windows wich we had to wedge open with something...,double bed you could feel something realy hard so had to sleep on top of the quilt , and the constant banging of a door all night was horrendous so unfortunately I doubt we would stay again its a shame its lovely
Perfect location, relaxed and comfortable property, good food and drinks selection in the pub. Room was spacious, stayed with my baby and a travel cot was provided. Would recommend this property and would stay again. The bed was very comfortable, there was a generous amount of hot drink sachets. The fridge in the room was very handy for baby bottles. Check in at the bar, check out via key box.
Chip shop directly opposite, close to station, tourist information, shops and eateries. View of swallow falls from our window and enjoyed listening to the water fall during our stay.
The cleaning staff just need to pay closer attention to bathroom and wood floor.

Not very good. Money too high and greedy. With no breakfast, or car parking . .also put in a room
Sad that breakfast was extra, after paying over ÂŁ130 per night
Room smelt if dogs rrm 7, We have got ho.e full of flea bites. As well as room being hot and sweaty.
Also a lot of swearing in bar area

We booked a night than what we intend to stay. After all day hike when we reached at the property at mid night. We came to know what we had done wrong. They had a family room which the could gave us in same prize because we were staying only for 6 hour but the manager didn’t accommodate us and asked for another £100 for staying and didnt refund our money.we then have to leave all our next day plans and came back to our home at 3 am in the morning driving all the way after being hectic day of hiking. All our trip was ruined just because of it. Staff is not cooperative at all. Our money is not being refunded. Nor even we were given change of date option.

Great location, super comfy bed and bedding. Nice outside space at the back for evening drinks.
Would have liked breakfast cost in with the stay. Lovely big window in the room but needed cleaning.

Clean, convenient, pretty, lovely staff and great value for money. Thank you
It was old school but such a lovely place to stay with such friendly staff! The waterfall over the road was amazing and was lovely to listen to when we went to sleep with the window open.
Can’t fault anything.

Staff were fabulous but accommodation very poor, won't be returning
The staff were very friendly & accommodating. We chose the Pont Y Pair purely for the location.
Evening meal poor, cleanliness of room, poor..we cleaned the dust ourselves in bathroom. dust under beds unacceptable. Breakfast awful, had to ask for cereal bowls, no fresh tea/ coffee, dirty milk, no greeting, food substandard

Birthday break
The room was comfortable, staff very friendly, Sunday roast was excellent.
Bathroom smelt damp but it's an old building, so probably couldn't be helped. Had a breakfast but don't serve till 8.30 which was far too late, needed to be out to get a parking space for walking , the milk for coffee in the morning curdled as it must have been there too long.
Unfortunately you have to park in the public carpark which mounts up after a couple of days.

Great Pub with great rooms. The staff were excellent and couldn’t have been more attentive. Great vibe in the bar where we were served great food. Really happy with our choice to stay here.
I would be very picky finding any faults.

Very clean and served great beer n wine.We had dinner here on our first nite which was pretty good but we enjoyed trying other places to eat that were close by.The Inn is close by the train station which is really great. We loved the walks that are in the area and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. We will be back
Loved it all

So close to being good
Lovely staff, good bar and a pool table.
Room was ample size and nicely presented.
Breakfast was OK but had to find someone to sort it. Think it might be included if you go direct which is annoying.
Can't comment on the food as we went elsewhere for dinner as it looked OK what we saw coming out but not the best.
Room wasn't overly clean. Bedding all perfect but the rug needed a hoover and the shower basin needs attention for a deeper clean.
Traffic noise, sits outside a junction so with windows open was incredibly noisy.
Paying for breakfast, always annoys me.

Was a stop over for us for 1 night in between destinations, very welcoming and would definately stay here again
Nice location , very friendly to us and our dog, great atmosphere in bar .
Lovely big room with very comfy bed
Check in took a while as only one person who was also running a very busy bar too, really friendly nice man tho, not really an issue just could of gone easier if more staff present.

Comfortable stay in a great Inn
Great old Inn in a beautiful town and setting. Rooms were clean comfortable and good sizes. Plenty of restaurants a short walk from the accommodation. Park and Pay was just over the bridge/river and seemed a safe area to leave the car.
Nothing.
6.0 / 10.0
Lovely pub, but I probably wouldn’t stay again.
The actual room was really nice, and the bed extremely needed and comfortable after hiking. Tea and coffee facilities in the room, and the decor was really nice.
The shower had extensive mould in the bathroom shower which left a small smell of mould in the whole room. Breakfast was very disappointing. To start off with we asked the process during dinner as it wasn’t clear. 6 of us having dinner asked and he said you just have to pay for it before you go bed, and we explicitly asked do we have to choose now and was told no. We sat down for breakfast and someone just brought out 6 English breakfasts? What if we were vegan, vegetarian or had allergies? One person refused to have it which they did refund, but we weren’t offered alternatives. Now the breakfast for £12.90 was extremely poor quality, we all agreed this was really cheap produce, really not worth the money. This didn’t affect me as really tired, but if you are light sleeper try and get third floor as second floor is very noisy due to pub directly underneath. Also if you stay in room 1 the pubs external lights shine directly into the bedroom with the curtains closed it is still bright, didn’t bother me but others might not like this.

Enjoyable pub accommodation.
Lovely little pub stay. Great location. Waterfall view from our top floor window. Loved the addition of a small fridge in the room, wished more places supplied this.

Overall a really good stay and fantastic value for money. will be coming back!
Great central location; close to restaurants, shops, short drive from some of the amazing Snowdonia mountains. The water pressure in the shower was amazing.
Not much space in the room, there were a few spider webs that could have been cleaned up very easily to make it more pleasant.

Excellent location, great staff, decent food, cleanliness could be improved
Excellent location in the heart of Betws Y Coed, no parking but there is a car park approx 100m away (across the bridge the innn is named after) which give seasy access (ÂŁ8.50 for 24 hours). We ate in one evening (gammon and steak) and had breakfast 1 morning, both meals were very good. The staff worked hard over a busy weekend and made time to have a chat which we always enjoy. The inn is a nice old building and having chatted with the owner (who only took over lass than a year ago) they are working hard improve it further.
The room we had faced the road which was very noisy at times so if you're a light sleeper, suggest asking for a room at the back. There was also live music on the first night of the stay which went on beyond the alloted stop time so disturbed us as we went to bed. This was raised to the owner the morning we left and she said this would be managed better next time. The cleanliness of the room could have been improved; the mirror in the room wasn't overly clean for example but this wasn't a deal breaker, just noticeable.

Overall a disappointing stay
Check in easy and fast, location right in centre of town, quiet, free parking 5 min walk up the road on A5, room size okay, bathroom clean. Great value for money compared to other hotels and inns in Betws-y-coed.
Cleanliness in the room (crumbs on floor and dusty in a few places e.g fridge top, corners of room). There was a view out onto the inn frontage balcony and the mess on the balcony was awful. Fast service at breakfast time which was good as we were walking all day. However, the quality of the breakfast wasn't very good - undercooked and fatty bacon, dry sausages, mushrooms had an odd taste, no hash browns - substituted with chips. We decided to go to the Spar for our last breakfast. Overall disappointing.

Great stay at the Pont-y-Pair Inn Betws-y-Coed.
Everything. To be honest I was only in the place at night as I was out from early every morning but it was superbly clean. My room was comfortable and so was the bed. Clean crisp sheets and duvet. No problems sleeping. The bathroom was so clean and tidy supplying nice crisp towels and shampoo and bodywash if needed. Unfortunately I didn't sample the food due to the fact that I was out all day but the aromas coming from the kitchen were delectable. Maybe next time eh because I'll definitely be back.

Stay on top floor great location
Fantastic location
Appreciate stocked toiletries, milk, teas and coffee, hand wash, body wash etc (clearly fixed after feedback from other reviews)
We slept in room 6 on the top floor and was mostly very quiet from street and pub noise
Opposite a lovely waterfall
Pub staff really helpful and easy to check in
Lovely antique furniture
We thought there would be parking on site but there wasn’t - needed to park over the bridge at extra cost
It was clearly decorated nicely a few years ago but could do with a tidy up and deep clean especially of the bathroom
One side of the bed seemed to be uneven and slide onto the side

Wont stay here again
Location was ideal
Purchased a family room with 3 beds and was allocated one double bed
Preordered food but there was no veg left
Breakfast was missing items - due to lack of food.
Was told that we would be refunded but we werent.
5.0 / 10.0
Bit mixed but great beds
The bed had a really supportive mattress and was very comfy. Good sized bath towels. Nice selection of hot drinks in room, inc decaf. Central location.
Some rooms face the road and the river but, if a light sleeper, take earplugs and sleep mask.
Hoping this is taken as constructive. Lack of Storage: No wardrobe, no hangers, no chest of drawers - just wall hooks and one tiny drawer in one of the bedside tables, so not ideal to arrange clothes.
En suite: No sink shelf or hooks. Wonky toilet seat and stain.
Both issues pretty easy to fix but would make a big difference. No parking but a few spaces on the road a short walk away, if you're lucky!
